8.6 mpg for a player with legitimately as much or more talent than anyone else on the roster.

Mike Malone. :facepalm

Kid has it all. The athleticism, the length, the jumper...playing less then 9 minutes a game. Travesty. Send him to a team where he can actually play ball and not be held back.

I check every Nuggets game to see what he's doing, there must be a reason he's not playing, it's hard to question the process.

He's like dad's 74 Corvette in the garage. It's cool to take it out once in a while but you don't want to play with it too much because it might break down

Look at how few possessions he's getting on here...and he's still showing flashes of his crazy potential.

A legit 6'10, moving around like a 2-guard/wing and getting to his shot. So much potential being wasted as Denver uses him as a roller and garbage man. :facepalm :facepalm

He should be starting right now and given the greenlight.

Denver's roster is begging for an alpha to lead all those good #2s and #3s they have. MPJ is THAT alpha.

Beasted in his first start a few days ago, then they send him back to the bench for his standard 10 mins a game:facepalm

What are they saving him for? The nuggets are a second round team at best anyway.. give this guy some burn:cheers:

Knicks are cursed. If he got traded to the Knicks, he would get hurt and never develop into anything. Right now he's beasting. Bright future assuming he stays injury free. Let's hope his health is on the rise.

Impressive game, but I don't expect him to have any real sustained health in his career...unless he decides to just be a spot up shooter on offense.

He fell on draft night due to some red flags on his medical report but i dont know the details. He missed last season and part of this season due to health issues. I don't think it's been the coaches choice not to play him, i think he wasn't cleared to play by the doctors.

He would have gone much higher in the draft if not for his health concerns. I think Denver is smart to limit his minutes.

his best outcome would to be traded to a team where he can get more minutes.

i don't expect him to drop 25 every night, but his ceiling is very high. i hope he gets the minutes he deserves.

What? Denver is ideal for him. He can develop in silence, while its roster is so deep that they can afford to sit him and thereby preserve his long term health. The kid had two surgeries on his back and injured his knee, the two most dangerous areas for any athlete. It's almost like Mike Malone and the Nuggets know what they are doing.

How is he wasted on the Nuggets when this is his first year playing? They didn't wanna rush him, his injury had some people thinking it would be a career ending one...he went from consensus #1 pick to the Nuggets at 14 for a reason

He's 100% healthy. Were not limiting his minutes.

He basically didn't play college basketball, missed his first season, and is playing basketball for the first time in awhile. Nuggets are deep. I wanna see him get minutes, get more plays ran for him, and over the season that's what will happen but it's difficult for Malone to do that right away on a playoff team. Like if the Nuggets were a lottery team who's main focus wasn't winning games Porter would be playing 25-32 MPG a game.

It's starting to change but earlier in the year when he did play he wouldn't get featured in the offense and always got yanked for defensive mistakes. He's gotten better but the first month of the season he wasn't even bad on defense, he straight up didn't know how to play it at the NBA level. Same with rebounding. He wouldn't boxout, and than Malone would yank him after like 6 minutes. I think it sends a bad msg to the lockerroom when your coming off a 2nd round playoff loss, trying to win as many games as possible, and your handing a rookie his spot. MPJ will have to earn it. Which he's starting to do.

It's shocking how good he looks physically. I had assumed after the surgeries he'd lose a good chunk of his athleticism. The fact that it's back this soon is a great sign.

Also it's worth noting he use to be a vegan. His whole family was, and they've all struggled with injuries. I'm not a doctor but there's a pretty popular theory that being a vegan as an athlete leads to injury and is just a stupid thing to do.

Nuggets got him to finally change his diet apparently.

Yeah lets rush him back and see him hurt again.

Denver needs to decide if its Gary Harris or Will Barton that will be dealt along with Beasley or Craig. Seemed like Barton was the obvious choice early but he has played well this season.

I think Denver clears out 2-3 perimeter players, gets a tough vet in return and unleashes Porter Jr for the second half.

West is theirs if they play this right.
