Pretty clear to see what's happening here. Not sure if this came first from Coach K or everyone reached the conclusion independently but they all learned how to avoid what happened in the 2004 finals. Kobe's fragile ego needs to be coddled and catered to in order for him to not have a complete meltdown and destroy a team from the inside with his glory hunting. Like repeatedly telling a dog that he's been a "good boy". Father a son already you testosterone starved, impotent, pathetic, husk of a man.

Thank you for your time.

It was a forced role by Kobe, hes a me me me guy. He relished being the 'alpha' dog of a team with a huge disparity in talent compared to other teams. He wasn't close to being the best player or anything, but being the elder to the other stars of the time and having that selfish mentality obviously manifested itself in him taking some late game shots.

Means literally nothing in the grand scheme of things, but you're an autistic loser so of course you made a thread about this and thought you had some good material.

Go outside.

Great players also are human, they have ups and downs like everybody else.

Having a stretch of bad games/bad shooting streak has no correlation to their abilities to accept responsibilities and taking the lead as alpha under pressure.

So where was he in the player of the tournament votes?
How many points did he have in that game?

Why did he trail wade in both?:lol

By your stoopid logic then Barkley was the best player on the Dream Team and not Jordan. :lol

"...in the history of the NBA we have never had the best-player-alive argument resolved so organically"

My point exactly - on a neutral court, with neutral rules, it was Kobe's infinite skillset and elite ability in all areas that found a way to exploit the opponent's armour - accordingly, he was the only guy capable of, or the best guy suited to lead the team to victory

inherently better than Lebron, and back in 2008 it was on full display

scuzzy
11-08-2019, 05:39 PM
And yet on a neutral court, with neutral rules, having identical teammates vs same opponents

It was young Lebron and Wade who vastly outshined prime Kobe all tournament, not once but twice (London)

I suppose if 10 minutes of rare play in a 8 game tourney gets you participation buzzwords like alpha, then Leon Powe is the 2008 alpha FMVP

Dwight, Bosh, Carmelo, LeBron, Deron Williams, Bosh, Tayshaun, Michael Redd. LeBron was almost MVP then. Maybe not his best year of his career, but 08 was one of his best lmfao.

Even though Kobe Bryant and Phil Jackson won five NBA titles together during their time with the Lakers, they didn't always see eye-to-eye. In fact, Jackson called Kobe "uncoachable" in his 2004 book.

> Agrees to coach Kobe again
> Wins 2 more rings
> Disregards what he said in 2004 because Kobe evolved.

Though not clear cut, Kobe was indeed the best player in 2008, so this is rightfully deserved.

Yet Wade was the best player in the final.

If Rudy Fernandez wasnt shitting on kobe all game we would have never needed Kobe to come up big. People forget that it was Wade who was the best player in that game.. People also forget that we were leading by double digits and Kobe kept turning the ball over and let SPAIN back into that game...

On a positive note for Kobe he came up big and so did Wade in that finals game in 2008.. Take a look at 2012 and it was LEBRON taking over in the fourth quarter of a close game.. Both Lebron and Kobe did what they were supposed to do..
