Watched some footage of Rivers in college and Melo looks similar only worse. Melo is going to get exposed really bad in the NBA. he is average at everything.

Lock it up. LaMelo's about to be a STAR.

OP might be the worst talent evaluator on ISH.

They don't even play similar.

Melo is a better shooter than Austin, but can't drive worth a shit like Austin.

People don't realize how great Rivers was in HS, dude was a cheat code

Melo's ceiling is an THJr

As guards, what do they have in common?

4 games into the NBL season:
31mpg (7th in the league) 36FG% (75th) 12 3FG% (67th) 73FT% (44th) 5.6rpg(16th) 5.6 apg (4th) 2spg 1.7 TO(6th) 12.4 ppg (24th)

Stats from the League Leaders section, player profile show differents ones:confusedshrug:

Edit: seems it's already been 5 games played (1-4 for his team). The NBL site is really bad

He hasn't been the worst.

Looks comfortable with the ball, can drive, some good passes, doesn't turn it over...

Shooting something like 2/22 from 3 though

LaMelo is shit. He'll be out of the starting lineup by X Mas.

LaMelo is already better than current Derrick Rose.

His ceiling is pretty high because he has such fundamental flaws that are easily fixed. His poor start really come down to poor decision making that comes from the shithouse coaching he has had most of his career. Big issues with his game so far as

1. Inability to take contact under the rim. Each game he has passed up 3 lay ups each game to go for the dinky floater that misses easily. Just needs to put his head down and take the contact. In the pros you are not going to get the rebound when you miss and you need to be getting the opposition into foul trouble so take the foul when its there ffs

2. Poor shot selection from 3 point range. His percentage sucks but his selection is worse. Even the 3 he hits are second thought heaves at the bucket. No system, no dribble or pick up. Just "Hey Ill shoot this sometime in the next 1 and a half seconds" throws towards the bucket. He has great dribbling skills, like A grade but doesnt use them when he needs too. He only uses them to shake a opponent to drive into the mid range lane, once he gets there he just picks the ball up. He needs to learn how to dribble, pick up and shoot.

3. Lack of aggression early in the clock. Too many times he gives the ball up 18 seconds in expecting to get it back but he doesnt and wont. NBL guards are much better defenders then the NBA lazy guys so he simply gives it up and doesnt get it back. They chase and harass too much.

He will get better but its going to take alot of coaching. ATM he has high basketball IQ with his passing but he is a very dumb player in every other aspect
