The whole episode was a watershed moment in the world of sports and entertainment. It was basically the beginning of the #MeToo movement as we know it. This was the day women stood up and said SEXUAL ASSAULT WILL NOT DO.

I know Kobe settled the matter and tried to quickly sweep it under the rug. Did the NBA ever issue a formal apology to Kate as well as the public for how one of its biggest stars was alleged to have conducted himself??

If not... I would submit to you that it isnt too late.

Better late than never. This issue is simply too important right now. The NBA itself needs to own up and formally condemn that incident and apologize to those who were hurt by it.

great point OP.

I believe kobe is a stand-up dude but what he did that day in colorado was FOUL. I don't really care about kate faber or her family but the NBA fan in me is outraged - we DESERVE an apology of me-too proportions.

well said.

Agreed.

I believe Kobe has matured a lot as a person since retirement, and I wish him well in his personal life.

But it doesnt excuse the mistakes he made, both on and off the court, while he was active. When a woman says NO, you cannot proceed. It doesnt matter what money shaq paid to whom. It is not acceptable.

The NBA as an institution needs closure on this issue. A mere financial settlement was not enough. Maybe they thought so at the time, but this is a different era. They need to go back and confront this issue the CORRECT way.

After that, continue to keep the spotlight on LBJ. He is a PR godsend. Honest, hard working family man with INTEGRITY. And a big peepee to boot.

The NBA cannot escape Kobe’s past, but Lebron can help ease the damage to their image. They need to face the Colorado issue directly for once. And then lean on LeBrahma for healing.

Does that mean that the written apology that Kobe issued after the incident is an admission of guilt? Good to know.
