I remember Bean proclaiming in 2013 that the Lakers were going to make the playoffs and they did.

The fraud in question by OP, on the other hand.....

Only because he went down injured and Gasol led them to straight wins to finish the season and get that 8th spot.

The injury excuse doesn't fly when your boy got eliminated from a playoff spot 5 games after the all-star break.

Kobe's whole roster was just as injured throughout the season. Whether it was Metta, Dwight with a bad back, Gasol with the foot, Nash with the back, Steve Blake, Hill etc...

And where did Gasol lead his team in the first round?

Oh right the same as the rest of his life :oldlol:

2012-13 Kobe is actually very underrated because of cancer Dwight.

I just remember how good physically he looked and the way he was moving that year, especially at 34.

The Lakers only made the playoffs after Kobe got injured. They had to beat the Spurs and Rockets without him to do it. Who’s to say they do that with ChuckBe ruining everyone’s rhythm?

2013 Kobe was only slightly worse offensively than his '09 and '10 versions. It was his best regular season since his MVP year in '08 imo. His defense had fallen off considerably but he was putting the team on his back night in and night out after the All-Star break in '13. Think they had the 2nd best record post-ASB iirc.

I think Kobe was better stat wise, offensively speaking, in 13 than he was in 10. Just going off my memory though.

Lebron actually played very well after saying that...but the Lakers were a crap team who sucked defensively.

Ethered you 85 times already but here we go again Lakers were 4th with the easiest schedule in the league then when bran got injured they had 5th hardest schedule.

Peace.

Not that stuporduper deserves half of the replies given here but umm:

The lakers had 4 guys miss roughly 30 games or more

Also had another miss like 15

Thats 5 guys who are in the top 8 of minutes played for the Lakers. Per game as well as total minutes. Safe to say most of the important pieces of the team missed significant time.

The arrogance and disillusion of playoff mode activated was actually hilarious.

Amazing what happens when you come and play in a real conference tbh

Remember how many excuses wheels and co. made after he failed to make the playoffs? Pathetic. Yeah he got injured, but even when he returned they kept saying "just wait til Bran comes back, playoffs guaranteed! Winning streak starts now" And then we all saw what happened :oldlol:

And what does that have to do with the Lakers missing game after game against some of the worst teams in the league when Lebron came back?

An underrated WHAT IF is if Kobe never tore his achilles. He was trending in a positive direction physically at 34 before the injury.

He might have really been able to stretch his career with strong play into his mid to later 30s.

It only has to do with a team having 3 of the 5 starters miss around 30 games each and the 1st or 2nd guy off the bench missing that many as well. Did they still have a shot? Sure they did. But in hindsight they shouldn't have even had that shot with what i stated happening.
