View Full Version : If the 16/6/5 Pippen had no rings, he'd be Jimmy Butler, actually worse based on stat

But similar to Pau Gasol, Pippen's name was elevated by being associated with championships

And I know lebron fam will say MJ wasn't shit without Pippen, but we're talking #1 options here - MJ needed a baseline level of help to win like all #1 options

How many top 5 MVP votes has Jimmy Butler gotten? And how many teams has he led to 55 wins?

Thanks

How much 3-peat system and teamwork developed over many years did he have?

Thanks

it's a testament to the bulls' teamwork and system that they could win with just 22 ppg from Pottie - 22 ppg is nothing for Butler and his stats destroy poppin's in 94'

MJ literally had 4 all stars on his team (Pippen, Grant, Cartwright and Armstrong) for his first 3 rings and 3ball tries to act like he had no help.

And he played with an All Defensive player for 8 years

LeBron did for...ONE year

IF...

My interpretation is, Michael Jordan had a Jimmy Butler level player and won 6 rings... Pippen was lucky on that Championship Bull's boat?

Is this thread a compliment to Jordan?

1998 Bulls...

SRS without Scottie: 4.77 (35 games)
SRS after Scottie returned: 9.08

difference = 4.31

And we all know how well the Bulls looked without MJ in '94.

Pip/Grant/Armstrong/Cartwright = 11 all-star games

Shaq/Jamison/Mo/Zydrunas = 20 all-star games

Wade/Bosh/Allen = 34 all-star games

Kyrie/Love/Korver/Deron/Mo/Rose/Wade = 33 all-star games

16/6/5?

Sounds like...

I dunno, Clarkson?

Rodney Hood?

Basically the same player, no?

to suggest that Pippen's defense was only as impactful as that of Butler is insulting, but to suggest that Pippen's raw offensive game always had game-changing impact would be wrong as well.

That's Pippen's best year. There's not a lot else like it from the Bull run.
