This is what I feel as well. Game 3 changed the complexion of the series. Kyrie went off the first quarter and half, crossing Curry up and asserting himself and the team into the series. He gave LeBron and the rest of his teammates hope. This is the hero that dropped 57 on the defending champion spurs and had the Superman like 55 point effort against Lillard, Aldridge and the blazers. He was the catalyst. Warriors knew it. The Cavs never looked like they did the first 2 games of the series after that quarter.


Edit:. Good point about game 5. He had a ton of baskets down the stretch of that game when the warriors were threatening a comeback. Key, moments that changed the series Kyrie came up biggest. Irving also came through in the clutch with like 10 straight points to put away Game 5 and the game-winner in Curry's face in Game 7.

It's clear as day to me that Kyrie was at the very least 1b in this series when you look at the fact that he was arguably the best player in 3 out of 4 wins and that he hit the biggest shot of the series to clinch the championship.

Shut it down.

And this isn't even considering all the times Kyrie stopped the bleeding.

Really confused by what the argument for Kyrie is here. It's certainly not statistical. LeBron's Game Score for the series is 26.5 to Kyrie's 19.1. He had the better Game Score in 6 of the 7 games of the series. The better Game Score in all 4 of Cleveland's victories too.

If we are measuring impact, than LeBron was a net +13 for the series' to Kyrie's +7 (Cleveland was a net-negative defensively for the series with Kyrie on the floor).

If it's the intangible, then really the only game you can argue for Kyrie being better is Game 3, when he got Cleveland off to that great start while LeBron didn't truly get going until the 2nd half. The rest of the games, LeBron's 2-way impact easily dwarfs Kyrie's. He also severely outperformed Kyrie in the clutch in the series' only 2 competitive games (Game 6 & 7).
