Are you actually kidding me right now? You think a guy that scored on milkmen and investment bankers would be able to score on THAT? LOOK at those defensive mechanics and the PHYSICAL JUGGERNAUT body type of the defender (everyone from this era is a physical FREAK equivalent to the defender in the above clip).

I don't want to hear anything from the '90s stans anymore after watching the above clip. This is THE most skilled era of all time.

That whole defensive scheme was hilarious. Just deny the stepback :lol
It was comical. The first time I've ever seen a defender defend from behind.

Do you understand that people in Jordan's era took 2 3's a game on average and this era you have people like Lopez jacking 10 3s a game (opposed to just a few years back when Lopez shot like 2 3s in an entire season).

Do you understand that back then 3s were considered the worst shot in basketball and were therefore not practiced? How are you comparing eras where no one bats an eye anymore at a player jacking 18 3s a game to an era where people shot like 3 3s a game max.

Do you understand Kyle Korver saying "I spent my entire career looking for efficient twos"? Why would Korver say this? Is he making shit up? Or does it completely back up everything I said above?

Thank you, come again.

People will see photos of Harden and Jokic and Rubio and JJ Barea and Boris Diaw say that NBA players were unathletic milkmen in this era

effective tho. per analytics, you want james shooting a 2 and not a 3. rubio's defense was smart there. plus, you're leading him right to rudy gobert, a DPOY :lol

How'd that work for the blazers lol. Jordan shot 44% from 3 in his prime in the finals which is better than curry and pretty much anyone else currently in there prime.

I'm not saying mj was a better 3 point shooter than curry but mj was pretty good from three when it mattered and that was in an era where it wasn't a big deal so he didn't really focus on it. He'd obviously dedicated more time to it if he came up in this era and be even better.

With the offensive explosion this season, due to rule modifications to cripple defense even further, and embarrassing clips just like this one doggy style defense. The teenage stans 20 years from now are going to have a field day against this era.

Then you have Steve Kerr making comments like this: https://youtu.be/HHoD9UCBgcs?t=185

what I found funny about this was how James Harden lacks any sort of inbetween game outside of getting to the rim or jacking step back 3's. He had no clue what to do, he couldn't even pull up for a free throw line jumper. I don't think he's capable of doing a basic pull up jumper because he needs to go and-1 mixtape and put the ball through his legs 10 times before rocking into a step back. Unbelievable

You may be right considering that 1998, barely drives to the basket anymore mostly a jumpshooter MJ was getting gifted 9FTA per game..... his most since the 1989 season.

Like Tim Donaghy said recently on Colin Cowherd's show when he first broke into the NBA as an official in 1994:

"I was told that if Michael missed a shot on the drive, that to go ahead and blow the whistle cause he probably got fouled

He does but he has to be pretty close for that. Some guys have a push shot they can do from further out. There's no way a guy should be able to run completely behind you and you don't know what to do.
