He couldn't win in OKC. What makes him the best?

Oh right, it's because Westbrook held him back. I'm sure all KD would need to go all the way was for Westbrook to get injured in the playoffs and KD could man up and get a ring. Too bad we never got to see that happen to see the results.

OKC as presently constructed are practically the best iteration of the team since 2016 in terms of depth and overall talent.

If you replace PG13 with Durant and substitute Westbrook for Shroeder then they would most certainly not be the 8th seed currently.

Regardless I don't want to blame Westbrook solely. It's just unfortunate that when the team finally hit their stride they ran into Golden State. It is what it is.

However, as a player, from top to bottom, Kevin Durant is the best player in the world.

Harden is 0 for 3 vs Curry and has never been in the conversation.

I got Curry 1, KD 2. Everyone else far behind.

No, he is not.

He's not the best player on his own team.

1) Stephen
2) Giannis
3) I don't care.

1. Curry
2. Giannis ( needs to prove himself in the postseason)
3. KD
4. LeBron (would be higher if healthy)

There is now way KD is better than Curry when the Warriors look like shit with KD no Curry but when its Curry no KD they still look like the best team in the league

In terms of team impact Curry is the best in the league right now

I agree with Curry being better in the regular season, but playoffs I'd have to take KD over him.

KD is a killer.

Now? Unquestionably. And the messed up thing is, with LeBron falling off. Curry is now easily the second best.

There’s no reason even with their regular season record, and boredom that they shouldn’t cakewalk to the NBA finals and another championship.

Let's not forget KD did make the Finals in OKC at age 23. They made the conference finals 3 other times in a stacked conference.

If you asked GMs around the league to pick one player to help them win a title next year, KD might get the most votes.

the best player doesn't always have the best season or end up winning it all

the talent level has been there since 2014

Should Kevin Durant vacate his Warriors position, you will quickly know the truth, and that is that Kevin Durant is not the best player in the world... that is Stephen Curry.

I truly hope Durant goes literally anywhere else next year.

basically this - if he leaves next season we'll see how well he fares and have this conversation again

That's true but how the hell is Kevin Durant better than LeBron James in 2016?

Imagine if LeBron choked a 3 games to 1 lead to them.

Holy shit there would probably a thread about it on the front page... right. now.

Add them joining them a month and a half later? Holy. shit. l.o.l.

Yes whenever you win back to back finals mvp's or league mvp's you are the best.

2011/Jason Terry still make the front page weekly, guaranteed the same would happen with that too

And if f he joined them too though, that might legitimately break the board

He won 2 bronze medals and has been down in a series every year at least 3-2 in a series.

I would love to see that ... so I’m not arguing. KD going to another man’s team and franchise is the ultimate bitch made move. This side of all the LeBron mercenary deck stacking.

He has been for the last few years, and still is.

His move to GSW was worse than LBJ to Miami, but at least he has balled tf out in the Finals ever since putting all that pressure on himself. No choking since he put on that Warriors uni

MJistheGOAT
04-03-2019, 01:04 AM
Talent, skill, eye test yes he is.

But playing in GSW is a big if, in OKC he was not so elite.

I need him as an alpha in a good but not clearly best in the league team to give a definitive opinion.

I would say hes top 2 yes.

Kawhi Leonard, Steph Curry, Lebron are hovering there too

How do you define best? As the best offense and defense like in one on one? he may be.

The player that is most essential to winning? That's Steph Curry. If you want to win it all this year, Curry is the player you need. He is changing everything on the floor. So in a game of basketball, 5 on 5, Curry is the best player. Individually? He isn't. Who is? I don't know and I don't really care.

Kawhi is not in the same league. Giannis and to a much lesser degree Harden, have something to prove in the PS.

Until Durant puts himself in the situation where he is clearly the main guy on his own team, nobody can say that he is the best for sure.

Theortetically, he is most likely the best player in the world. Outside, inside and mid-range on offense, he can do it all at the highest level. He's also an excellent defender with length enough to bother anyone and quick enough to stay out from of anyone.

Just has to change teams.

Giannis and healthy lebron are better. Its hard to put him over Curry also seeing as he joined him cus he couldnt beat him

Rocket

Currently Harden and Giannis are better. A case might could be made for Anthony Davis but his teams record hurts him.
