View Full Version : Wait, Looking at the Boxscore, Did Giannis really outperform Harden?

19/14/4, 1 steal, 1 block, 5 turnovers

vs.

23/10/7, 2 blocks, 4 turnovers

Only big difference I see is Harden missed his threes and wasn't getting to the foul line.

Certainly not enough to make me think Giannis should be MVP just based on this game.

I was expecting Giannis to have a 40 point triple double in the win. Otherwise, it's just proof the Bucks are the better team this season.

Also don't forget to look at the fact that James Harden had to play 37 minutes to even reach the similar stats Giannis AntetokounMVPo got to in 32 minutes.. Houston was handled so easily this game it wasn't even a contest for Milwaukee.

Giannis isn't MVP because of tonight, he's MVP because he's been the more impactful two way player all season. Giannis was the MVP before tonight.

Anyways, Giannis is a far more valuable defensive player, so any box score based analysis is missing a lot. Sorry that his value isn't tied to his offense and he's able to impact the game more on a poor offensive night than Harden can.

Giannis (and Lopez) played a role in Harden having a bad game. Bledsoe did a lot of the work shading Harden but that strategy can work because when Harden drives he'll have to face Lopez directly with Giannis helping out.

Giannis mostly plays free safety because that's how the Bucks scheme him and he's dangerous out there, he can distort opposing defenses AND offenses in ways no one in the league can

So no, Harden did not outperform Giannis.

You mean when Bledsoe scored 16 in a row in the third?

Well there is that other part of the game thats just as important as offence. Its called defence and Greek is one of the best at it while harden is one of the worst so yes Greek played much better than Frauden did
