Guy gets hit the most of anyone I've seen. Say what you want about him, but he gets clocked in flagrant fashion seemingly every game. Got whacked right before the injury too.

He was destroying the Nets too. Damn.
Never seen someone that big have their ankle snap like that.

F*cking hell, it startled me even though I hadn't realized anyone had been hurt yet. Not a good thing when we start to recognize that sound right off the bat. :banghead:

It floored me. Honestly was in complete shock, I thought the loud thud was just from him landing on his side. Then the camera panned to his leg...****

God damn! At least with Hayward's you can't actually see it snap on the impact and turn a way it never should. That shit was gruesome.

Every time I see an injury like that, I always think of the generic bone breakage sound from The Simpsons:

not with todays science. Livingston, George and Anderson Silva had very similar injuries and came back strong.
Nurkic doesnt rely on movement, footspeed and athleticism/reflexes like those guys did for their games

Hopefully Nurk will be back at full strength in 2020-2021. You can absolutely rule him out for all of next season, unfortunately.

Just because Nurkic isn't as athletic as those guys, doesn't mean that he doesn't rely on " movement, footspeed and athleticism/reflexes"..
Also you have to remember the size of the human being we're talking about here. Nurkic is going to have to regain the ability to walk and run normal before he even attempts to play basketball again.

In my opinion Hayward and George had it worse (visually speaking) than Nurkic.

I wonder if the intensity minutes played are going up? The league seems to be more demanding with tons of switches/spacing/screening now as opposed to hanging in the paint for 20 min a game.
I also know the chances of sustaining an injury after a back-to-back is greatly amplified.

It sucks to see anyone have that injury let alone close to playoffs. I will add. I seen kanter being all contrite but do u think he is. I mean he has gotta know its his chance now. And he has whinged about his play time in the past.. I'm not sure what I believe but still. Lol

Holy crap that is ****ing horrible. Somehow Nurkic being huge and his leg still snapping like a twig is even worse than a normal size person.
Also, seeing the ref ****ing trip over his broken leg made me so angry. WTF is he doing even walking over someone like that in the first place, asshole.

It just takes a long timee to come back from. But you can come back to near 100%. There are a lot of other injuries that you can never get back close to 100% from. Like an achilles.
It's sad how everyone walks away from him except for one dude on Portland.

Maybe not. But my fantasy team, on the other hand, with Nurkic as a season-long primary contributor, began its 'Conference Finals' matchup yesterday. This is devastating. :(

I was wondering about that too, but maybe they did it due to the severity of the injury so they wanted to give him privacy. Or maybe they don't like his ass, I don't know to be honest.

Maybe it makes them squeamish. Maybe it's some policy that they need to get out of the way of the medical staff.

I haven't watched the video, don't want to. But it does seem to be happening more.
I only saw such an injury once and it was from the early 2000s, or 90s, from a random video of a high school game. And that was thanks to the internet.
So it does happen in basketball, and without the internet I wouldn't have known it. I thought maybe the high school kid drank a lot of soda.
The Paul George one, I won't re watch it, but that was a freak environmental accident, due to the base of the hoop, and his foot getting wedged where it did.
Nurkic, a freak accident. Not so much in the Paul George level where it was due to an environmental factor, but I imagine it could had easily not happened. And thus without those two freak accidents, then it probably wouldn't be looking as though it happens more as of late.
