Didn't have a particularly good shooting game, but still influenced the outcome heavily.

Look @ the offensive rebounds (not those laissez-faire defensive rebounds), timely/bullet passes and off-ball movement. Larry's impact on the game and his teammates was...unreal.

Pristine video quality too. I wish more game-edits had this kind of clarity.

Clutch foul here here. Doc was about to put Larry on a poster we would have been watching replays of forever:

I love watching bird - I honestly think he's the most skilled player ever and a truly goat passer.. zero ball-dominance or hold-time needed to toss sick dimes.. one of the only guys that could get 10 assists without playing pg

Ultimately, the best combo shooter/passer/rebounder ever, and an original stretch 4 brand that improved teams as much as anyone in history

It's amazing to think what a next-level stretch 4 like bird would do in today's game that is built for stretch 4's to have tremendous impact and role

The thing I like about watching Bird is his patient, confident and "easy" looking contributions on the court. Even his little touch passes - where he is standing and when he chooses to cut or shoot or whatever.

He never looks rushed or rattled. Every play he makes he makes it seems as tho he's just flicked through 8 options/possibilities in a fraction of a second and chose the best one automatically and he does it quickly but also without being in a hurry so he looks relaxed out there. Looks like a veteran even in the early 1980's.

Watching some Celtics games from back then, I always likened him to a computer as well.

Like you said, it
