Lmao one of my buds started a My Gm thing in 2k with the wolves.
They're now his second favorite team, (Cavs) and thinks KAT will be in the MVP race next year and that they could make a finals soon.
Eveyrone seems so optimistic for them, so sure I'll jump of the championship bandwagon

Welcome aboard my friend.
It's going to be one hell of a ride.
They'll say we need to trade Wiggins.
They'll say the injuries are too much to handle.
They'll say Thibs is insane and that making plays practice four times on game days is too much--
You got the point.

Trade Wiggins? He is the greatest Thibs pupil ever. Unlimited two way potential, can log heavy minutes, not prone to breaking down...
I don't think there has ever been a player more suited for Thibs style of play and coaching.
Wiggins is actually going to flourish under Thibs.
I got him at 23-24ppg next year with big bumps in rebounding and overall defense.

And after that Sixers will be bringing home the chip.

The Timberwolves are really not that impressive to me. KAT is amazing, no question there. But after that, literally everything is hype x1000. Wiggins, Lavine, Rubio, Dunn, every single guy they have is overhyped to the roof because of KAT's awesomeness.
Didn't do shit against us. I still remember Giannis straight up shutting KAT down and dragging his nuts across Minnesota's face last time we matched up. Wiped them off the floor. Can't wait to see them match up this year.

Second Wagon, Third Wagon - People who support teams from the other conference
fourth Wagon- Sympathetic People who wouldn't mind us as long as we don't go against their own team. (Same conference) who understand our woes and hope

son hate to break it to you but with that roster you're not even going to smell late playoffs. Besides KAT you got a hot shit tbh:
- wiggins is a really low iq/low heart player imo, who gets by a lot with his skills and athleticism, he is really fools gold tbh. His off ball offense is trash besides basic cuts, so that won't work with kat.
- lavine has the iq of a monkey and if he is you pg of the future you better hope kat continues to shoot that well because he ain't getting post touches
- thibs is stubborn retard and will always hamper the team as a GM because he doesn't understand tactical flexibility and plays 100% good ole american style. He might not run them into the ground (they're young) but he won't teach team a lot besides defense ... in a league where offense and physicality rules you'll have an athletic, good defensive team who'll be allergic to ball movement
- rubio is useless in the nba because he can't shoot. He needs a euro style team to be a plus, and the wolves are ANYTHING but it. He should be traded ASAP, and I actually think rubio >> lavine as a player. He is just a bad fit.
- kat is a great talent but bigs need time to be great in the playoffs, to learn all the dirty tricks, to stay out of foul trouble, to not be baited, etc .. they need time.
What you really need is an offense creator that can shoot and demand attention but not overcontrol the ball (harden, cp3 when playing bad ball, kobe). You got NONE on that team.
2020 is in 3 seasons.
Imo you won't even reach the WCF by 2020.

Seriously! Look at the bulldog that Butler turned into. Tough and disciplined. Those are Thib's calling cards. Wiggins is longer and more athletic than Butler, but is a player in the same mold.
I think it's pretty safe to say that Wiggins will turn out to be a rich man's Butler. I mean, anyone could have something derail their career, but I that's a conservative projection baring a bad injury.

Lmao........................
BOI!
No offensive creator?
Who is Ricky Rubio?
Did you not watch the Olympics?
Ricky is more effective with NBA level talent surrounding him, he struggled with team Spain but he's been of of the most effective floor generals in the league since his first year. Caught you slipping out the gate talking reckless without any solid foundation to base your claims upon, bring your a-game or don't even try it next time, fool!
Of course he can't shoot, but Dunn can and he is revered as the best rookie of his class by his peers, by 2020 he will be starting.
Thibs is a a total retard, the guy who crafted the most copied defensive scheme in recent years and won a ring on a team that was able to utilize his tactics to their fullest potential, did you forget about the Celtics 39 point destruction of the Lakers in the finals? Thibs was responsible for that.
The West is wide open right now, the bottom 5 seeds are up for grabs, if you don't think the Wolves will be in contention for at least 8th you are just a hater (Or completely mental!!)

Highlighted all the BS.
They drafted Kris Dunn who projects to be a nasty all around PG
Zach Lavine is a knockdown spot up shooter who is excellent in transition. He won't be playing point guard
Wolves consistently play better with Rubio. Rubio right now is as good as prime Rondo IMO. Elite defense and court vision. He was average as a shooter last season.
Rubio is far, far from useless. He's an all around high impact player

I don't follow the draft I just watch the games, If they finally got a real NBA pg good for them.
As i've said, I'm actually a rubio fan (I've see him since he was 15!), and he is a very good player (very underrated tbh), but he doesn't fit this wolves team from a playoffs standpoint. He is just a bad fit playoffs wise, of course the wolves play better with him than with whatever trash they played at pg this season, but this tells you more about what trash they used than rubio's value on that team. Again, not hating on rubio but he doesn't fit there. Also, rubio's shooting percentages mean nothing, he is left WIDE open a lot, basically dared to shoot. Also the wolves are not an intelligent team (wiggins, lavine, dieng) so rubio's quick passing, handoffs and game control isn't maximized there. Given the timberwolves composition rubio is just not a good fit.
Rubio on a non motion offense team will be FREEZED in a playoffs series, dared to shoot, overloaded, pack the paint. If the offense isn't moving it'll die really quick, and I don't see any intelligent wing play for the wolves given personnel and coaching.
Lavine is dumb, I don't care that he is a great shooter or that he can run, he won't be a core piece of a contender. Look at JR smith a bigger version, better shooter, better defender and while he has some impact on the cavs he is far from a core player (love/thompson).

I respectfully disagree with you.
Judging Rubio's playoff value when he never been to the playoff is redundent.
Did anyone think Damian lillard is going to up his scoring by 4 PPG in his playoff debut and add 2 more rebounds per game?
And about JR smith, underrated as hell. Key, Key, Key member of this championship squad. Also key member of the Cavs turnaround last year. Is he the star of the show? heck no. But without his d and 3, they are not as good.

@rubio : olympics, you could see how different teams ellected to guard him ... on a spain team STACKED with shooting and smarts .. just the PERFECT team for rubio. I also don't need to see something when I can analyze for what it is. Again, I think rubio is crazy underrated.
4ppg and 2 more rebounds is nothing compared to his consistent ability to open up the court with his range and slashing game. Look at the portland roster and just imagine the spacing with rubio. This league is a 3&dunk league with few quick thinking players (reality) so trillard is more valuable in a general situation because of it. I'd rather have rubio on a smart team, but trillard is a great fit for a random team (like portland).
jr smith's defense is extremely overrated to the point it's becoming hilarious. He easily bites on many fakes and gets by with athleticism. His positioning, posture, awareness, dumb fouls all scream bad fundamentals and have been exploited these past playoffs. On offense sure he can get LIT :lol but he is wildly inconsistent and you don't win rings on hot streaks, you win them on cold streaks (like this finals game 7). He is a bonus player not a core player. They'd switch him for danny green, a miami heat battier, or a peak derek fisher in a heartbeat. If he were such a good player he wouldn't have a problem getting good offers regardless of his club escapades ... but isn't getting any.
Imo JR smith is perfect example of what is wrong in today's nba fans : they appreciate short spectacular boom/bust play over steady play. Even if we're talking about the same production per minute a high variance (large inconsistency) will lead to team difficulties in executing game plans (player fouls out, player shoots like shit, player has checked out mentally) which affects the entire team. In high stakes games where everybody has the cheeks firmly clenched you don't want variance, you want to execute your gameplan to a T and get the win.
These inconsistencies are almost always attacked by good coaches, because an inconsistent player (jr smith) or an inconsistent skill (lebron shooting) will almost certainly underperform under serious pressure, unless that player is also very strong mentally (jr smith NO, lebron YES). Highly volatile skills/players are very unsteady and they'll look great against 1st round fodder and horrible in tough series ... series where these skills are really needed. Consistency is absolutely critical, especially in role players, as they provide a limited set of skills, if these aren't working they are literally dead weight.
Example of inconsistent skills/players which have been speculated by coaches in the past years:
- lebron (outside shooting)
- kobe (mentally -> hero ball mentality, 6/24)
- wade (outside shooting)
- westbrook (clock management and pace control)
- durant (ball domination and willingness to fight for possession)
- howard (encourage his team to freeze him on offense -> check out mentally)
- griffin (post offense)
- cp3 (keeping the ball too much)
- bosh (rebounding)
- love (perimeter/help defense)
Now role players don't provide the variety or skill dominance of star players (e.g. love might suck defending the pnr but he'll give a shitload of boards and a post presence) so when they are inconsistent and on a bad roll they are literally DEAD WEIGHT.
Consistency is the name of the game for the winners, especially for role players.
That's why rubio's shooting and jr smith game are bad bets for high stakes games, they'll be/were put under crazy pressure from any competent coach

Give him that though,
Rubio has been consistently underpeforming with Team Spain in the last 2 Tournaments.
But yeah Rubio is a beast in the NBA, if he even slightly elavate his shot (To the point where open 3pts usually go in) they can do wonders with him on the court.

I would say you're late, we have been hearing this for about 5 years now. It's just usually the guy with the half wolf/Ricky face Avi. As currently constructed I would say this roster has nothing for the warriors, spurs or clippers, but hard to say what the teams will look like by 2020. With the bottom of the west being a dumpster fire they should at least make it in this year. But as a bengals fan let me tell you making the playoffs every year isnt fun when you don't have a real chance of winning it all.

and rubio just won an olympic medal by shooting 25% for 3pts/3reb/4ast/3fouls in a grand total of 16 minutes vs australia.. his tournament averages are 17 mins 5pts/3reb/3ast/3fouls on 36%fg and 26%3pter :lol.. and this is on an aging spanish team where his skills (athleticism, playmaking, defense) are MAXIMIZED and his weaknesses are hidden (shooting).

He had a couple of decent games, and they won the bronze so it is hard to blame him for a supposed failure, he isn't the focal point of their offensive strategy and plays limited minutes and international ball is barely comparable to the NBA, Patty Mills should be one of the best players in the league if that was the case.
+Swagga :
J.R. Smith was vital to the title!, he was the main catalyst for Cleveland's space and pace approach, he made 3 3's per game on 43% in the playoffs, including 5-10 in the finals series changing 30 point drubbing in game 3.
His current contract situation doesn't change history, J.R. is a workhorse off the bench and has been an elite sparkplug guy for years.
Trashing J.R. Smith and LaVine, two guys with a similar game, seems like you aren't willing or able to appreciate reckless and unpredictable shot makers, that's fine, but denying their value is ridiculous and J.R. has proven that those type of players belong on championship caliber rosters.
ADAPT WITH THE TIMES (RETARD)!
Boom or bust plays are usually worth more points, you aren't going to win a championship by playing it safe, you need guys who thrive on hitting contested and outrageously deep shots, relying on them completely is a different story, but the best teams feature players who can get momentum changing buckets, not just the predictable and less valuable.
Also, why would a team be reliant on Rubio's shooting in crunch time? He has hit game winners before, mind you, but to disregard the rest of his attributes because of his weakness is ignorance, he would be the one finding the shooter most of the time, not taking the shot.
you can play stupid for a laugh but nobody is taking you seriously in here, you definitely aren't impressing me at all, and I'm in chill mode right now, this is light work!
I'll be throwing retards like you into the trash can with the quickness come regular season, anyone in my path will get embarrassed, B'LEE DAT, FVCKBOY!

I'll be throwing retards like you into the trash can with the quickness come regular season, anyone in my path will get embarrassed, B'LEE DAT, FVCKBOY!

look son, first I'm sorry I've hurt your feelings (wonder whose losers alt are you).
I'll take it easy on you and just post some facts here:
- rubio was trash at the olympics shooting 36 %fg and 25 %3p. He couldn't get starter minutes on a team in dire need of guard defense.
- rubio is a 37 %fg and 31 %3p for his career and for last year .. it's not like he is improving his shooting.
- the nba is a 3p dominated league. all stronger team (cavs, warriors, spurs, hawks, raptors, clippers, etc) have competent pgs who must be guarded or else they'll bury you from 3p. they also shoot respectable percentages.
- the wolves have drafted a PG with their top 5 pick. That should tell you all you need to know about their thoughts on rubio as a starter.
You can nig around all you want with gifs but it is obvious that the wolves aren't blind to this reality and they are taking steps in addressing team needs. It's actually quite probable for rubio to be on his last wolves years.

noel isn't going anywhere. he is young and can protect the rim and that makes him super valuable, he will only be moved for star talent.
I wouldn't trade rubio as his nba value is low and he is a valuable piece during these next growing years. I'd trade lavine as GMs are always suckers for shooting and athleticism and that boy plays like he was lobotomized, but not now, in a 1/2 years. Try to trade with an amateur franchise (kings, nets) as they'll be in dire need to sell tickets (exactly what lavine will do). Imo if the wolves know what they are doing they could get you good young piece or a top 10 pick in a good draft for lavine.

You are SUFFERING!
Why are you even mentioning the Olympics? Ricky isn't a featured player on that team like he is on the Wolves and the rules aren't the same, but they still won bronze and he did have two decent outings/
It is clear that he can ball with the best of the best, he was 3rd in steals and 5th in assists last year, only 7 steals behind Curry who was first, check the stats before making a fool of yourself, you don't know what you are talking about.
+The thread is about the Wolves as a team, not Rubio, I just decided to take a quick vacation in your head and now you are obsessing over him, obviously he needs to improve his shot but not EVERY player on the floor needs to be hitting from outside at once, he's still a great floor general and the stats back it up, please continue embarrassing yourself, you suck at trolling too..
Rubio could be gone midway through the year, I'm still repping the Wolfpack and riding with Ricky regardless, stay salty!
+LaVine is apart of their core until proven otherwise, the Wolves are hogging the lane, they aren't going to let him walk like OKC did with Harden and lose their opportunity, get real.

No No no.
That's the year we lose in the WCF in 7 due to not having home court advantage. Wiggins goes down on a 39 PPG effort, shooting 38% with like 18 Free throws made. All because KAT went down with a hamstring injury. (Nothing long lasting!) that he played through the first three rounds with.
The next year they race out of the gates breathing fire and then they win it all.
Stick to the plan, my friend.

Thanks! What's your opinion on Wiggins? His stats seem solid but I've read stuff about him saying he has a "no jumper" and "no heart."
imo that doesn't make sense. There are tons of players who have a suspect jumper who are good scorers.

I can't question the heart of a guy that tried (and succeeded) to dunk on Rudy Gobert.
Yeah, he's got some question marks. Mostly about his rebounding and passing. And his D isn't as good as was advertised, but the tools are all there.
I like his jumper. He got a nice arsenal, and his spin move is sweet.
I think he needs to step up his D, in my honest opinion he could outclass guys like Jimmy Butler and Demar Derozen as early as next season if he pans out.
He's the silent type, which goes well with KAT's playfulness. That guy is the future, and I trust in him.

son his biggest question mark is that he is incapable of creating offense. I don't mean passing I mean creation, exerting gravity on the defense. Stats don't show it but looking at the game it's obvious. The more I look at him the more I realize just how smart the cavs were in that love trade.

Give it a rest you clown, Wiggins averaged 20ppg in his second year with a very inconsistent jumper, you can't "exert gravity" without a respectable J (BBIQ)
His biggest question mark is court vision, he isn't a natural passer and lacks a killer instinct at times, but you don't watch the games so you wouldn't know that.
You better activate a new account soon, the Wolves are going to crush any sense of credibility you thought you had next season, how are you going to look yourself in the mirror when all of these stupid sentences backfire?

Who are you talking to?
And about Wiggin's jumper- I don't know. I think he has a knack for scoring. He had a few nice shooting games from what I've seen (Honestly it was only the nationally televised ones on my country, like vs the Cavs and GSW and such..)
I like his control of his body. The way he twists (that spin-move is his trademark in my honest opinion) shows me he is going to be effective in getting to the free throw line. He averaged 7+ free throws per game and made about 75% of them. If he gets better he could really become a lethal crunch time point maker. I really, really want to see him start to rebound the ball more, with his physical gifts it shouldn't be that much of a problem.
I like the guy overall. And I think he can peak as second option on a contender. Maybe I'm just overly hopeful. But hey, let's wait and see, eh?

His step back is his signature go-to move, the spin is great but he can't use that at will, and I agree that he has shown positive flashes with his J, he's only played two full seasons there is plenty of room for growth.
He is a natural scorer but he looks uninterested at times and can fade away if he doesn't get it going early, he is destined for 25ppg in the near future if he ramps up the aggression
Passing and rebounding are his only real weaknesses at this juncture, he is actively improving his shot/handle and his defense is above average when hes zeroed in, I'd argue he is a top 5 iso defender already.
