The injury effected his game none whatsoever

His next game and following series versus the Houston Rockets, Steph perfomed at an elite level

https://s31.postimg.org/981kjrh3v/curry3_5.png

The following 7 game series versus the Oklahoma City Thunder he again performed at a spectacular level

https://s31.postimg.org/exht42na3/curry4.png

And as we all know, in the Finals, Curry just couldn't live up to the two previous series when he faced the Cleveland Cavaliers

https://s31.postimg.org/z656psml7/curry5.png

Infact, by looking at his past 3 Playoffs, 2016 Curry was right on par in nearly every category with his 2014 and 2013 Playoffs

Steph didn’t play his best against Cleveland for some of the series, but he had huge games in other parts of the playoffs, which got us to that point. That’s all a part of it. And if we had won the last game, nobody would’ve cared about Steph or his struggles.”

yep

“We didn’t hide anything,” Kerr said. “If there had been a diagnosis, we would have told you. We don’t hide stuff like that. He was banged up. But that’s not an excuse. It’s not an injury; it’s just that the reality of the season and it kind of hit him at the wrong time, given that everything started in the playoffs and carried through.

“We wouldn’t have sat him out. We wouldn’t have said anything different than what we said. It’s just the reality of sports. It always takes a little bit of luck to win a title. We always say that, and it’s the truth. You’ve got to get a break here and there."

Damn, just shitting on any conspiracy that Kerr and staff were "hiding" the injury for strategic advantage

Last year in the finals Curry lit Thompson up.

I sprained my MCL recently. It certainly makes a difference in my mobility. Crazy that Curry recovered so quickly.

Scuzzy's logic is highly flawed

According to Scuzzy's logic, Michael Jordan's "Flu Game" (http://www.nba.com/news/features/steve_aschburner/top-nba-finals-moments-michael-jordan-flu-game-in-game-5-chicago-bulls-utah-jazz-1997-finals/) never happened. Since Michael Jordan scored 38 points, that is proof that he did not have the flu!

Of course we know that sort of logic is absurd. Michael Jordan did have the flu and he scored 38 points despite suffering from an illness.

Great Comparison

:yaohappy:

Using a player's stats is no indication of their health

If that was the case, Michael Jordan scoring 38 points during the 1997 Finals proves that he did not have the Flu!

(Which we know is absurd, Michael Jordan scored 38 points despite having the flu, just as Curry put up great numbers despite his knee injury)

Golden State's three best defenders: Draymond Green(team's best defender), Andrew Bogut(team's only rim protector), and Andre Iguodala(prior year's FMVP) were all out of commission due to injury or suspension under dubious circumstances. The team that LeBron beat in the Finals does not accurately represent the record setting team that won 73 games during the regular season.

Draymond missed 1 game
Iggy played every game
Bogut was a net negative vs the Cavs
Draymond missed a crucial close out game

Andrew Bogut was far less of a net negative than his replacements, Varejo and Ezeli, (Their net negative combined was -18 in only 18 minutes played between the both of them!) (http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201606190GSW.html) That means if Golden State played those two at center for the whole game, they were looking at a net negative of -35 to 40!) Andrew Bogut was very crucial to that roster that was shallow in size and rim protection)

Considering you brought up net negatives, Andre Iguodala was a -25 in game 6 (http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201606160CLE.html) where he was suffering from a back injury and could hardly move1.

Damn...what a refreshingly new topic.

Oh, and please tell us all again, how Curry had to overcome a mild sprain, the which the recovery time was listed between 1-2 weeks (with a 60 year old taking two weeks, a normal man a week, an athlete a couple of days, and a true stud getting up and running down the floor)...well after two weeks, and then over a month later, was putting up the worst Finals ever by an MVP.

The reality was, Chokurry, or Glass as he sometimes known, was arguably the HEALTHIEST and most RESTED player in the playoffs.

And he STILL puked all over the floor. In fact, the Warriors played BETTER without his sorry ass.

warriorfan
08-13-2016, 06:36 PM
The time table for return of an MCL sprain is 2 to 4 weeks.

(Keep in mind that healing timetable is for every day activity, nothing more strenuous than walking up one flight of stairs, NOT playing professional basketball)

Stephen Curry returned from the injury after only 2 weeks because the Warriors were struggling against Portland without him.

In result Steph Curry re-aggravated his knee injury by coming back too early and then playing 40+ minutes of playoff basketball plus overtime in his record setting performance against Portland.

A complete loss of lateral movement due to a life-threatening MCL injury that would have kept a mere mortal sidelined for approximately 57 years meant he was physically unable to muster up enough torsion to swing the pass accurately to Klay.

If you watch Curry's press conference immediate following the Finals, he said that he regretted trying to settle for a 3 instead of going by Love. It had nothing to do with not being physically able to drive against Love, it was rushing, settling and trying to hit a dagger.

Inconsistency is a sign of injury/decline/lack of conditioning even if he has great games once in a while. Jordan had some amazing games when he first came in 95 and some amazing games as a Wizard. Kobe had some great games even this season despite possibly having the worst overall season of all time. But you would've been called crazy to say they were the "same" based off that. With that said, Cavs deserve championship credit. But they didn't beat a 73 win team that was really close to their normal peak capabilities.
