LeBron has better stats. LeBron has more MVPS. LeBron has more FMVPS and rings as the best player on his team. LeBron has better playoff stats. LeBron has better finals stats. LeBron is more well-rounded. LeBron scores more points than "Mamba da GOAT scora evah!". LeBron is a better passer. LeBron is a better rebounder. LeBron is a similar level of scorer as Kobe. LeBron can guard more positions than Kobe. LeBron is more athletic than Kobe. LeBron is a smarter player than Kobe. LeBron has more game winners in the playoffs. LeBron has beaten a 73 win team. LeBron has come back from a 3-1 deficit. LeBron brought Cleveland their first ever championship. LeBron had more 40 point final games in the span of about 3 days this past finals than Kobe did in his life.

Conclusion: LeBron is better than Kobe.

Nothing more ever needs to be said. This should be cut and pasted into every Bron/Kobe debate thread that ever comes up again, and then just be left at that.

You know what I can do? Look at two players, even if one is on my team, and objectively tell you which one is better. Know why? Because I don't really care which one is better.

Know why you can't? Because you're a grown man, who still cares about his childhood heroes, and what another mans perception is of your favourite player.

End of the day, the winner in all this is Kobe because his name is still being mentioned with these two top-ten LEGENDS of the game. Relative to actual player skill, the Kobe fam is in a sick way, the most successful on ISH. Almost like the Lannisters: hard to understand why, but persistence will get you places. :confusedshrug:

Kobe normally roasted the Spurs from mid/long range .. but when challenged out of his comfort zone, he adapted flawlessly.

slamming on the twin towers and leading his team to a dominant WCF sweep over a HOF studded team.

meanwhile .. Bran was dared to shoot in two separate series..

2007 - where he shot 28% on jumpers outside the paint
2013 - where he choked first 6 games bein dared to shoot, and was bailed out by jesus

and 2014 obviously was too scared to even try shooting, so he employed a low volume, high efficiency approach to save face.

scoring versatility has always been on another level for Kobe. Bron is more versatile and consistent outside that, but in this particular matchup Kobe >>

Kobe had the fortune of spending his best years with the best frontcourts in the NBA

When he was young he had Horry, Shaq etc which was by far the most dominant and well spaced front court. Shaq drew triple teams and HOrry drew the defence out. Kobe could go 1 on 0 half the time.

When he was a little older he still had the most dominant front court physically and mentally. Playing with Pau, Odom and big boy Bynum along with relatively prime Ron Artest makes that front court/SF by far the best in the NBA. No other team even came close.

Its funny because any HOF guard can win with the best front court in the league. Tmac could have had 6 rings with the best frontcourt for like 10+ years. Iverson could have had 6+rings with the best frontcourt for 10+ years. Kobe accomplished NOTHING. If Lebron played with Rick Fox, Shaq, Horry etc etc thats 6 rings. Then he play with Odom/Gasol/Artest/Bynum for another 5 years? Come on Lebron gets 10 rings and 10 FMVP baby. Kobe is the biggest underachiever given what he was gifted. I could have won 4 rings given the best front court in the league for 10 years. All i have to do is shoot the corner 3 which is easy as fhvk

You're claiming your not biased when...you've been hating on Kobe for as long as you've been on this board.

You'll be sad to know that LeBron is actually better than both.

Am I more partial to certain players? Yes. Everyone is.
Do I dislike Kobe any more than certain players in the league? No. Kobe isn't even close to my most disliked player ever. His fans are deluded thinking he deserves to be ranked above players quite clearly better than him like Shaq and Bron.
I've always maintained that Kobe is a better player than guys like Hakeem.

You're just upset posters like myself don't have him top 5, and don't believe reasoning such as "5/7>3/7" is reason enough for him to be there. Kobe winning a title putting up 15ppg on 37% doesn't tell me anything, or give me any justification as to why he should be ahead of guys like Bron.

If Kobe won 5 titles averaging shitty numbers, but was simply a better player than either Duncan or Bron, I'd rate him higher. The point is, he is, by all metrics, and simply by watching the game, a worse player than both, especially worse than Bron though.

What is it that makes Kobe better? Go ahead, explain it to me. Don't use championships either, since both have them, and Bron has more as the man. I'll even give you a list as to why Bron is better.

Over their careers he averages more points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks.
He shoots better from the 3 point line and from the field overall.
He has more MVPs.
He is bigger, stronger, faster, more durable, misses less games.
He is more multi-faceted. He can play more positions.
He is a better defender and can guard more positions.

In the playoffs he averages more points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
The gap in these statistics widens in the playoffs.
He averages more points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks in the finals.
The gap widens even more in the finals with these statistics.
He is a better finals performer.
He has more 40 point games in the finals.
He has more epic games in the finals.
He is a better closeout performer.
He is a more consistent player.

Find any advanced statistic, and Bron is better at every single on when compared to Kobe. I don't care how much you dislike them, every single one of them all point to LeBron being better, and just about all of them place Jordan in the top 3 with the like of Bron and Shaq.

So what makes Kobe a better player than Bron exactly?

Kobe gave it to Duncan several times. But so did a lot of people.

He was one of the very few who really didn't give a fvck if he got dunked on. He'd contest every play no matter what. There's probably more posters on Duncan in this era than any other person out there...because he was the only one the put himself out there to be yammed on consistently.

Kobe has the highlights on him (as do several others btw), but Duncan made everyone's life more difficult. And he never cared about who gave what to him in any situation.

He could have shaq throw a monster jam in his face and then immediately come back on the other end and calmly put a jump hook in....or whatever move he decided to make. He was never shook.

Besides Jordan nobody has the last laugh 100% of the time but Timmy was pretty good at getting his. Whether it's him scoring, or making the perfect pass, or grabbing the opportune rebound, or making the perfect defensive play, etc.

Comparing him and Kobe is stupid.

Comletely different types of greatness. But greatness nonetheless.

But Lebron owned OKC in the finals. The same OKC which trashed the Lakers and made Prime Kobe look like a scrub. Does that mean Lebron 5x Kobe in 2012? Now that he has 3 rings does that mean Lebron 15x Kobe?

False

Kobe owned OKC until he gets old and injured.. In 2012 Kobe was in his 16th season and has so many mileage in his body than anyone else in the league at that time and he also suffer multiple injuries during his entire career and still came up the best.. Proof that Kobe is better than LeBron and Duncan..

Kobe had the best front court for 10+ years of his career. He should be measured by the years when he didn't have the best frontcourt in the league otherwise its very hard to separate the front courts achievements from chucker achievements. Its always good to have 2 big 7 footers boxing out and grabbing loose offensive rebounds and putting them back in. Bynum was a very big boy and he certainly threw his weight around and wore out the opposing team even if it does not all show on the score board. Artest put the fear into the opposing team as well while Pau was arguably the best low post player in the league at that stage. Oh yeah Odom was a star level talent who wanted to be in LA and was the best bench player in the league winning 6man of the year.

To be fair we need to look at how kobe did without all these stars and talent. He missed the playoffs just about every year while Lebron was getting 66 wins and going to the finals with Booby Gibson as the second best player on the team.

Duncan's teams are 2-1 in the postseason against LeBron's and Kobe's teams are 4-2 against Duncan's.

That's not "owning". Kobe's game 1 of the 2001 WCF against Spurs was remarkable and probably his best postseason performance, but neither Kobe/Duncan or Duncan/LeBron is postseason owning.

Jordan going 6-0 against Ewing in the postseason (including college) and having one of the best dunks ever on him, now that is ownage. Or Russell's teams against Wilt's teams, or West & Baylor's teams. Actually Boston just owned everyone during that time with 11 titles in 13 seasons.

To make the Jordan-Ewing one even worse, Jordan always rubs it in Ewing's face.
