So Kawhi & Lebron are the best all around players, because defense.

But Klay is the best two way player.

Not contradictory at all

Thompson is an impressive defender. Green gets credit for being able to defend anyone; but Thompson is pretty much able to defend everyone too. I see PF's and C's on a switch against Thompson and they try to post-up and back him down; but he often doesn't even budge. It's kind of amazing for a guy his size. He obviously has strength but you can tell he times his push-back perfectly knowing when the offensive player is about to back into him. In his normal defensive assignment, he has a wide stance and moves laterally very quickly. He challenges shots, like a good defender is rarely fooled by pump-fakes, is strong for his position, and it often amounts to lock-down defense.

There's a reason why the Warriors are so good, and it owes to all these factors that often don't get attention given the focus on Curry. They include things like Green's passing ability, bench depth, and Thompson's defense.

He's in the top handful of 2 way players, but Leonard has the strongest case obviously.

First off Klay is a great player, best SG and top 10 player but he ain't even the best twoway player on his team.....

Dray is easily best 2way player in ball. He's basically Golden States point guard, runs/initates almost all their offense, one of the best screeners in basketball, one of the best transition players, in the running for GOAT big man playmaker/passer and the real DPOY (not to mention very good shooter especially for big)…....

If you guys are doubting his defense then watch game 5 against Portland again. He shut down Dame Dolla in the 4th and that's a tough task.

Harden, Lillard, Westbrook and Irving. That's a gauntlet defensively for Klay.

There two ways to interpret this

a. Klay Thompson is better than Steph Curry and LeBron James

b. Jalen Rose is dumb as shit and corny

what a failed thread

Accurate top 5 list of two-way players (requires being an elite defender with all-star level offense)

1. LeBron (easy choice)
2. Durant (elite defender because of his length and foot speed, shut Kawhi down)
3. Klay Thompson
4. Draymond Green
5. Kawhi Leonard

HM: Paul George, Jimmy Butler

In the past, the ULTIMATE two way perimeter players were guys like MJ, West, and Kobe. Because they were alpha dogs AND awesome defenders in one. Bron is of that cloth and in my opinion is still the premier two way player in the world. His defensive capabilities haven't slipped enough yet. He's still a great scorer as well. I think Klay is the premier two way SG in the world though.

For big men, I think Anthony Davis is the premier two way big right now. When it comes to Draymond, he doesn't score the rock well enough for this argument. Dray's value comes in the ALL AROUND ARGUMENT when u throw in dimes and boards.

_avis isn't even a good defender yet. Defense is more than blocks and steals. Pellies were a bottom 3 defense and _avis at rim defensive percentage is an awful 52.7% and he bites on every pump fake, mediocre post defender and pickandroll defender

He can't pass either

Dray, Millsap, Aldridge are all better two way bigs

There aren't two way bigs on the level of peak KG and Duncan in today's game. So looking at the crop of bigs now, I would take Davis in the two way sense. He can score better than Dray and Millsap. And he's a better defender than Aldridge. Looking into the future, I think Davis and Towns will set the tone for two way bigs.

Until Dray can prove his scoring mettle more, I can't call him the premier two way big. BUT in the all around sense, Dray is the premier big in the world. There's a DIFFERENCE between two way ability and all around ability.

A better defensive version of Reggie Miller, but worse ball handler.

Solid AS caliber player, but never anywhere close to a superstar.
