If he beats LeBron to get to the finals there is no way he isn't a top 10 player all time.

How can he not be?? Look at the heats roster and look at the cavs.

Of course wade has to play well...where would you rank him?

Ill have him right at 10

so beating Lebron is as good as winning a title and fmvp, now?

no disrespect to Wade, but if he beats Lebron, he also has to win the title and fmvp to move up the rank - unless you have Lebron and nab championship titles as the same value

Beating Lebron would rank Wade at 15 and Lebron at 16.
Finals MVP would put him in the top 10 ahead of Hakeem and The Big O.

last I checked wade already has a fmvp and a title WITHOUT LeBron. so again what point are you trying to make? last I checked he also has One more ring than LeBron as well.....so again what point are you making????

all this you rebuttal, but is Wade ranked higher than Lebron? it's common knowledge nowadays that Lebron is top 10, and Wade beating Lebron does not diminish Lebron's rank nor does it move up Wade's from Top 20 where he is. its the conference finals! :facepalm :facepalm

the point the OP is trying to make, and which my rebuttal is directed toward, is that somehow Wade beating Lebron would propel him higher - which is a fallacy, as again, it is the conference finals and since when does a player move up without having added accolades under their belt? doesn't happen - it will be a great series, and a vengeance battle at most - but in terms of ranks being adjusted due it is nothing more than a ridiculous post.

last I checked LeBron isn't top 10 anything yet

You just looking at the matchup at face value. Look deeper my child. If wade and LeBron never paired up this wouldn't be relevant. When did LeBron start winning rings???? With who did he win them with???

That matchup is much more than a ecf. LeBron has costed through the playoffs so far if he is dethroned by his former team what does that say???? especially while having the better team (on paper).

if a 34 year old wade puts the heat on his back and beats the cavs to get to the FINALS.....how does he not move a few spots up????

No one had the heat making the finals ever again after LeBron left south beach....NO ONE and if anyone says they did they either suck wades dick while gabrielle is out of town or they are lying.

This will be a monumental series. There is no king james without the king wearing a heat jersey. Wait let me guess LeBron would still be top 10 right now with no rings right????

so a stance to your rebuttal is based on an if? well while you live in lala land, we talk reality and what actually happened, not what would have happened :facepalm

and again, it is a conference finals series - only accolade is the vengeance of Wade beating Lebron because they were former teammates. hooray - there's been upsets occurring and knocking out of good teams/players for decades now. it doesn't boost anyones ranks, and certainly not into a top 10 like you and other Wade stans fathom over. only way that occurs is if they complete the deal, and win the jewelry - take into consideration Dirks run in 2011. had he lost to Miami, he's still labeled a choker but because he and the Mavs won the title, it is a heroic run and he is considered top 20.

now please shut up

how does losing to a better team in the finals make you a choker???? dirk was considered a choker because of the 2007 playoff run and 2008...not from 2006 you damn dummy. No one called dirk a choker when he lost the 2006 finals....people started questioning avery but dirk didn't take any flack for losing that finals....if he had of lost in 2011 it would have been all about how bron and wade coasted to a ship....I don't think they lost any games that year in the playoffs till they got to the finals right???? or maybe im wrong...oh yea they lost against the bulls 1 time.lol

again shut up...you clearly cant comprehend English. now

like I said....you keep looking at it as just being a ecf....when in reality its not..its wade potentially stopping the KING from getting to the finals TO WIN a ring when to date he has only won a ring in Miami. if YOU CANT UNDERSTAND THAT......OH WELL

ScalsFan21
05-10-2016, 01:27 PM
Cavs would pound this Miami team into submission of course, Wade should be proud if he forces a 5th game back in Cleveland to avoid losing in front of his home fans.

That being said, yes, if Wade somehow pulls off this series (absolutely no excuses for LeBron in the ECF unless he himself gets injured, he's way too good to lose to this group), it would one of the most impressive upsets in NBA history, and while Miami would remain a massive underdog against GSW, getting there would still be a hell of a statement for D-Wade and company. It's just impossible and not even worth thinking about, that's the only problem.

smh - shows how much you follow the NBA. the Mavs have been choking way before 2006, 2006 capped it off as a staple in losing 4 straight to DWade :facepalm and are you really serious in no one calling Dirk a choker after losing to Miami in 2006? why do you think revenge was so sweet for them come 2011, and the epic run they had? :facepalm :facepalm you can't be this retarded lol

and as far as Dirk losing in 2011 to Miami - he went through Kobe, someone he's continuously lost to. did him beating Kobe alone propel his rank? no, it didn't Dirk would still be top 30/35 Dirk had he not won the title.

again, this is nothing more than a conference series with nothing more than a vengeance between the Heat mgmt and Lebron, because he left - if the Heat win, Wade's rank remains the same unless the Heat can win a title. it's really that simple, simpleton.

1. It being his first title makes a world of difference here. Wade already has 3; he's already prove to have that killer instinct that Dirk had not until his 11 title.

2. If Dirk's run to the finals (probably more impressive than his play in the finals) didn't affect your all-time estimation of him as a player, then you're doing it wrong.

wilt is a top 5 GOAT - exactly how is that bad? :confusedshrug:

the exaggerations here is unreal - a 5 spot swing - can't be serious! that means he'd be better than guys like DrJ, BigO and potentially threatening NBA greats like Kobe, Dream,Moses, etc.

no it shows how much you follow the nba. mavs were a middle of the road team before nash left....now of course no one knows how good they could have been IF they kept nash. The mavs did not become title contenders until the 2006 season. Yes the mavs were a playoff team before 2006 but no one was proclaiming them to be preseason favs prior to that 2006 season.

again......the MEDIA hyped the 2011 finals up as revenge.....im sure you don't understand that so ill break it down for you...people OUTSIDE of the nba hyped up the nba finals as revenge. How could the 2011 finals be revenge for dirk when 1......shaq wasn't on that 2011 team and 2....LeBron wasn't on that 2006 team. Don't be stupid....please don't..coach spo wasn't even the fuccin coach in 2006 you moron. :facepalm

his play through the west was far better than in the finals, that's certain. and his run would not significantly move him up had he not won for me (one spot at most really, if any change) - he'd be a choker through and through, and certainly far behind other chokers who were far better at PF like Malone and Barkley.

Wade was the man in 2006 - Riley was the coach
Dirk was the man in 2006 - Cuban owned the Mavs

Wade 1a/1b in 2010/11 - Riley is President of the Heat
Dirk is the man in 2010/11 - Cuban still owns the team

exactly how is that not a rivalry? not to mention beating them exactly how they beat you, back-door sweep and on your court. :facepalm so what if other pieces changed, the main pieces didn't that made it rivalry-esque.

as for rings - it doesn't tell the only story, simpleton. FMVP, stats, play in finals, not making the playoffs, etc. all determine rank - or are you another arbitrary idiot who look at sh!t face value. look he has more rings, so he's better. well congrats to robert "clutch" horry! :facepalm

If things went a little differently, Wade could have been top 10.

First if... no one seems remembers, but Wade was the best player on the HEAT during the 2005 playoffs and they were on their way to the Finals until Wade got injured. If Wade doesn't get injured, that's another trip to the Finals and possibly a FMVP.

Second if... LeBron doesn't choke and Wade wins another ring and FMVP.

He could be sitting on 5 rings and 3 FMVPs if things went just a little differently.

so then whats the criteria for rings being worthy - stats, fmvp? either way, your stance is thin. as for Horry being a journeyman - again shows how much ball you are really aware of. you do know that today's big mans style of play came from guys like Horry - he was a PF who could spread the court and hit the 3 - Chris Bosh ring a bell? not to mention he was overly versatile as he could put the ball on the floor in beating the slower big men down low who dared to come and track him above the FT line. consider him the ultimate role player than any coach would love to have - your 2nd pick in a pick up game after choosing a star on the court.

and if you call Horry a journeyman, what about Rodman - Pistons, Spurs and Bulls - because they switch teams, they are irrelevant? :facepalm

you're probably young - and thats OK - admit it, do some research and understand how stars aren't only impacting the game to insinuate a guy like Horry was nothing more than a Journeyman lol

as for the exec role of Cuban - if you don't think Cuban doesn't play a role in his teams opponent, you are again misled by whatever bubble of thoughts you live in. it's why he's always vocal and in the news, even up to today against the Thunder last series.

guess you didn't think much of the Riley Heat/Knicks rival because he was a coach only and not a player - or what happened when he moved to Pres and those same games against the Knicks? no longer a rivalry since he's president now?

VERY TRUE

But you don't think wade has a chance to still be top 10???? When its all said and done its looking like (I don't know how many more playoff runs he will have though) he will be at the top of every list as far as playoff stats go. 3 rings.....more than any other people in the league now besides Duncan/parker/ginobili.

IF........he beats LeBron this year.....a GOAT player candidate who didn't start winning rings until he joined wade.....WHILE dominating the series....wade wouldn't be propelled to the top 10 or at least somewhere around 11-13???

We are talking about him beating arguably a team that looks untouchable right now with THE MOST TALENTED PLAYER TO EVER LACE UP SHOES...NOT THE BEST....BUT THE MOST NATURALLY GIFTED SPECIMEN THE LEAGUE HAS SEEN.

I just feel wade has the accolades and the stats to jump quite a few spots IF he can dethrone LeBron at pretty much the height he is at right now. That's all

all this caps and owned rhetoric just shows your youth - lol

stats tell everything now? lol so what do you say about Battier, same setup as Horry, what about Ariza and other guys alike

as for Horry being a HoF - he's only been eligible for 2-3yrs now, and he was certainly no 1st ballot HoF-er. obvious is obvious. he'll be in eventually.

there's a reason Horry was picked up by coach's like PJax and Pop, he was the perfect complimentary player. the greatest role player of all time and the only non-celtic to have 7 rings, not to mention reasons TD never won during the 3peat lakers era and why the Lakers got past Portland with Horry's defense on Rasheed Wallace, or why Barkely didn't get past the Rockets when he was drafted to Houston those years

wilt is a top 5 GOAT - exactly how is that bad? :confusedshrug:

the exaggerations here is unreal - a 5 spot swing - can't be serious! that means he'd be better than guys like DrJ, BigO and potentially threatening NBA greats like Kobe, Dream,Moses, etc.

DWade is a great, 3rd best SG ever, but this is complete hyperbole :facepalm
Oscar's stats would be something like 20/6/6 today at BEST. The slowest team he played on played at a pace of 106 and that was during his FINAL year. Dude was routinely playing on teams with a pace of ~120. Oscar is one of the most overrated players.

as for Horry being a HoF - he's only been eligible for 2-3yrs now, and he was certainly no 1st ballot HoF-er. obvious is obvious. he'll be in eventually.
there's a reason Horry was picked up by coach's like PJax and Pop, he was the perfect complimentary player. the greatest role player of all time
And here we go. The LeBron dickriding r15mohd we all know.

all this caps and owned rhetoric just shows your youth - lol

stats tell everything now? lol so what do you say about Battier, same setup as Horry, what about Ariza and other guys alike

there's a reason Horry was picked up by coach's like PJax and Pop, he was the perfect complimentary player. the greatest role player of all time and the only non-celtic to have 7 rings, not to mention reasons TD never won during the 3peat lakers era and why the Lakers got past Portland with Horry's defense on Rasheed Wallace, or why Barkely didn't get past the Rockets when he was drafted to Houston those years

anymore Wade (2003) to present rhetoric you care to rebuttal with?

so yes - 2-3yrs eligibility so far :facepalm

the 2-3yr reference is correct, as he began eligibility for the 1st time in 2014

"Robert Horry will be eligible for the 2014 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class, as he retired granted mercy to his opponents five years ago.

caveat to the waiting period: He/she may then be considered for Enshrinement in the fifth year of retirement.

If he beats LeBron to get to the finals there is no way he isn't a top 10 player all time.

How can he not be?? Look at the heats roster and look at the cavs.

Of course wade has to play well...where would you rank him?

Ill have him right at 10

WTF is wrong with you?

The Cavs are too cowardly stacked to lose to an east team. They MAY lose to a west team, but even that's doubtful.

And Miami will be LUCKY to beat the Craps!

so wait......you not giving the heat any chance to win the series....when they have the better closer in wade...the better coach in spo....and they should know everything about LeBron as far as where he likes to catch the ball.....hot spots, where he likes to or do late in games.

Im sorry but I have to say that the heat are favorites.

This is something LeBron has never faced in his career yet...an opposing team he use to play for. I just hope wade and LeBron don't get all chummy during halftime and sh*T.

Wade has to come in with that scorned dog mentality. They wrote wade off after LeBron left. They said LeBron carried HIM to two rings when really wade gave LEBRON the gift of egttin got the finals 4 straight years when he didn't go since 2007. With no WADE THERE IS NO RINGS FOR LEBRON AND I HOPE THE STANS KNOW IT.

WADE WILL PROVE THAT THIS YEAR IN EPIC FASHION....A OLD DOG WITH ENOUGH FIGHT LEFT...JUST ENOUGH FIGHT LEFT TO PROVE TO THE WORLD WHY HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE MOST UNDERRATED SUPERSTAR THE LEAGUE HAS EVER SEEN AND IS MORE LIKE JORDAN THEN KOBE COULD EVER BE. WATCH

I got the heat in 6. kyrie/love have literally faced 0 resistance in the playoffs yet...where has the adversity been????

I don't know if I agree with wade guarding LeBron but im dying to see wade guard kyrie...watch him turn back the hands of time and become flash. Of course you have to guard LeBron by committee and I think the heat matchup very well with the cavs. The game will come down to rebounding.....I need Hassan whiteside to average at least 20 rbg in this series. If he does......................IT MIGHT BE A SWEEP.

Barring some kind of miraculous title run, Wade's legacy is pretty well cemented. He'll go down as a top 20 player all time and the 3rd greatest SG ever. I don't see that changing at this point, although I think his great playoff run this year has helped solidify his ranking. He's having a historically good playoff run for a SG his age. In the last 40+ years, only Jordan has been better.

Say what you want about the competition, but if Wade carries this depleted Heat team to the conference finals it would be a remarkable accomplishment. Again, not enough to significantly alter his legacy, but certainly enough to help solidify it. I know this might not apply to Toronto fans (and potentially Cavs fans), but we should soak it in and enjoy it. Wade is a truly special player and it may be the last time we see this kind of sustained greatness from him.

are you counting West as a PG? If not, I disagree. Have a hard time having him outside the top 15.

I've talked about this before, but I don't think positional ranking has to correlate directly with all-time ranking. I think it's possible for a player to be "greater" in a historical sense but not as good an individual player. For example, I rank Bill Russell ahead of Shaq all-time but I think Shaq is the better center. I rank Bird ahead of Lebron all-time but I have Lebron as the best SF. For positional rankings I tend to factor-in pure ability and level of competition slightly more than for all-time rankings. I rank West above Wade all-time but I have Wade as the 3rd best SG.

NBAGOAT

I see so you're basically arguing for positional rankings peak play/dominance matters more. I would agree then but it's not too big of a difference, Wade's peak is like top 15 but West's could be argued for top 20.

we not talking about the conference finals though. we already know he is going there...no way the raptors win 3 straight IMO. my question is...if he BEATS LeBron to get to the finals...wouldn't that be one hell of an accomplishment for a 34 year old player who everybody wrote off. THE cavs are playing the best basketball in the league right now....They look like the title favorites.

Spurs looked OLD down the stretch last night......warriors look meh....thunder look really good but they still look like the thunder from previous years..straight iso ball and let westbrook and Durant guide us.

lets just keep in mind the eastern teams that have beaten LeBron in the playoffs...there have only been THREE teams that have eliminated lebron in the eastern conference.....The big 3 in boston.........the one year Dwight howard was arguably the best player on the planet and the magic......and the Detroit pistons when they had billups, hamilton, wallace etc. THATS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

DO YOU GUYS REALIZE HOW MONUMENTAL THIS WOULD BE????

as monumental as your inept way to understand the basics of the NBA, or an NBA series - it is 7-games :hammerhead: and the series is tied at 2-2, raptors need 2 games to win - as does the Heat.

Raptors have the advantage with homecourt, and the only advantage the Heat have over Tdot is Wade dropping 30pts and being the true star on the court to actually lead and be that clutch player - however, can he do it a 3rd straight time? pretty sure the Raptors are going to switch focus to more heavily eliminating Wade's impact tonight, and force the role players of the Heat to beat them - which is certainly not hard seeing DeFrozen and Kyle Sorry are trash.

your other posts about if the Heat beat the Cavs, Wade moves up to top 10 GOAT is still ridiculous, however lol

you live in la-la land with your posts/thoughts. the Heat up 3-1, Wade jumping to top10 GOAT by beating the Cavs in a conference finals series :facepalm senseless and stupid rhetoric continue

unless you have Lebron as some Godly figure, which it sounds like you do, it's nothing more than a personal gain for the Heat/Wade/Riley against Lebron - and does little to Wade's ranking. no praise without the accolades of a title to seal the notion.
