Just need to retain our top-three-protected draft pick this year (which we will, as long as the basketball Gods don't scowl upon us), finally make a splash in the free-agency pool this summer with the salary-cap increase and Kobe's contract off the books, and we're making major strides back to relevance. :banana: :banana: :banana:

I hope the Clippers enjoyed their reign of Los Angeles basketball with their magical first- and second-round playoffs runs, but that end is within horizontal eyeshot now.

[QUOTE=Naero]Vintage Kobe so far. :bowdown:

As a Bucks and Kobe fan, the complexionally best outcome I can hope for is that Kobe is a one-man wrecking crew while the rest of the Lakers are stagnant, so my Bucks can win it in the end

After a decade of supportively following Kobe - who piqued my NBA fanship to begin with before eventually gatewaying into my fanship for my local team in the Bucks - I naturally associated my fanship with his own team in the Lakers; it would feel too displaced for me to discard that fanship at this stage, which is what's kept the Lakers etched as one of my favorite teams.

It is not that uncommon for there to be multi-team fans--whether one is reticent about that or not--and there oftentimes are hierarchies within that macrocosm; that's the case with me, as the Lakers remain as my secondary team. If my Bucks play the Lakers, my support with the Bucks will obviously supersede that--as I can attest with the latter quote that you cited--but as long as the two teams don't come at crossroads, of course I'll have my Lakers-fan cap on, and I've consistently been on record for that outlook.

this could be a good move but he have very little coaching experience. Wish they had the foresight to snatch up Brad Stevens.

weird that they didnt even go through with the interview of Messina.

Was obviously going to happen as soon as he stepped into the Warriors coaching role for a bit.

Love the move.

that coaching percentage is going to get reckt. but i you have to respect someone that obviously doesn't care about that if he's going to the lakers. Phil wouldn't do it, he protects his record like no other.

Remember when coaching the Lakers was an elite job for the all time greats like Riley, Jackson, Dantoni (I kid)....how the mighty have fallen indeed.

Didnt Phil coach the 2005, 2006, and 2007 Lakers who sucked.
