I've never really liked the guy. Yea he was a excellent player. But I'm annoyed by all this "you've done so much for basketball" farewell gooey sh*t. He was a very unlikeable person to begin with.

Never been a Kobe fan. But he is the last of a dying breed. I will give Kobe credit for being a competitor unlike sooooo many of the current players and stars of today. They could learn a lot from Kobe. Sure he's a a-hole and raped a girl, but he still had some of that old school in him that's going extinct with him and Duncan.

As a true fan of the game I am relieved that the most selfish player in NBA history is finally walking away. This will allow the Lakers to finally return to relevancy and give their young rookies a chance to grow. So much young talent on that team, yet an entire year of their careers is wasted so a washed up shooting guard can jack up 20 shots per night at a 35% clip.
Kobe's "retirement tour" represents everything that is wrong with the NBA. It's because of him that players think they are bigger than the game :facepalm
