Only 3 men have shown that they are capable of winning season MVP, Finals MVP, and all-star MVP in the same season.
Michael Jordan (twice) of the Chicago Bulls - 1995-1996 and 1997-1998
Willis Reed of the New York Knicks - 1969-1970
Shaquille O'Neal of the Los Angeles Lakers - 1999-2000
Can Curry some day join this elite company?

yes, so elite, and so needed to exclude LeBron from the company.
Listen, I dislike the man as much as anyone else, but gim him props where it's due.

Lebron won all-star mvp in 06 and 08 to my recollection. This thread is about who's won all 3 not "what is your opinion on the value of reg season and all-star season mvp"

Kid is so delusional he thinks we are the same poster. Last week I was called 3ball, and the week before that I was called Jeff. :facepalm

Not as early as your mom.
And I'm impressed she's still in the business.

Jameer can't fall asleep unless he watches his anime. His favorite to watch before bedtime is "goosh goosh" on YouTube.

All-Star MVP is a bullshit award. Who honestly cares who wins "MVP" in an exhibition game that doesn't mean anything?

The All star MVP award isn't really a barometer to get excited about. I'd rather a player i root for win the FMVP if it means my team wins. The other two are more popularity contests

This.
Duncan, Russell, and MJ are the 3 who were capable, but didn't (Russell really disadvantaged by limited awards given back then).

I know the award is kinda meaningless, but if you look up the historical All Star MVPs, it absolutely shits on the list of DPOYs.

All-star MVP
Worthless award.
It means you were the biggest ballhog in ONE EXIBITION
Also, Larry Bird in his career won:
College MVP (all of them, there are multiple)
Rookie of the Year
MVP
All-Star MVP
3 Point shootout
FMVP
Coach of the year
Executive of the year
most of those multiple times. If you don't account for longevity, he has the most impressive resume.

A better accomplishment is Mvp, fmvp, and gold medal, which only lebron and Jordan have ever done.
Bill Russell would have easily accomplished this in 1963 if the FMVP existed then.
He won the MVP, All Star MVP, and avg. 20ppg 26rpg 5.3apg in the Finals.

Toss in DPOY as well. He unofficially accomplished all these (no DPOY and Finals MVP during his prime) major award winnings.

It literally never did.. although players did used to care about the game itself.

Russell would have pulled off the MVP/DPOY/FMVP trifecta like 3-4 times. Ditto Wilt accomplishing it in '67

The way the last all star game was played every half decent guard in history could have won it if they cared to try. And I mean every single one. We could go back to the late 40s and find Tricky Dick Mcguires backup....he could have won that all star MVP. Everyone was free to score exactly as much as they decided to.

Well players back in the day, when they cared wanted to win that game and the guy getting to win played the biggest part in it. Jordan, Kobe, Shaq and other, older ego guys wanted to win the award.
Today really nobody cares anymore, 'cept for Westbrook. kblaze is right, if JKidd had decided to shoot 40 times in '00 nobody could've stopped him, aside from the basket itself ofc.
