I think he needs to adjust now. Hes a turnover machine playing like a guard. He needs to play in the post coz he has become unstoppable there. He really need to take advantage of his height and if could play pf, they would be much better.

"Bulk up"
He will never put on the weight you want. His body type wont allow it.

He could really be a nightmare if he could become a defensive anchor while being a stretch 4 with ball handling skills. All he really needs is strength.

how would bulking up result in less TO's?

He will be playing in the post

It would help Durant game especially in the post, sadly he never gained any muscle in off season in weight room he doesn't like playing at all with much physically.

what is strength going to give him to be a defensive anchor? weight will help him be a better post defender and rebounder but post defense has lost it's vital importance in today's nba and durant's rebounding is pretty good for his position already. added weight will just reduce his footspeed and lateral quickness which he needs to defend the wing. the real reason he doesn't dominate on defense with his length and quickness is his motor. he puts a lot into the offensive end and he just doesn't have the motor to go hard and hustle trying to make plays the whole game on defense.
if he joins golden state though he will be asked to reduce his offensive workload a ton. his iso's will get cut down the most. his minutes will be reduced as well. with these changes to his game he could exert more effort and be more defensively focused and be a great defender. kd putting up 22-7r-6a very efficiently and playing better defense would be the second best player in the league behind steph curry.

But defensive anchors really need that strength tho. Dray for ex. And he will be playing the 4 so he wouldnt be guarding the wings. And with that skills he had acquired playing like a guard then becoming a big man, he would be a combination of dirk/kg if he could become an elite defensive anchor. Thats just a GOAT player

Foot injuries and bulking up doesn't belong in the same sentence unless he wants to go the route of Yao Ming and retire at 30

Durant is not as skinny as you think. His very long wingspan makes it look that way.
Durant 6'9 240lbs

NBA List info is for marketing. And rarely ever updated (Magic, LeBron, etc all have had great weight fluctations throughout their career)
Durant has never in his life approached 240lbs.
LeBron is not merely 249, he's been as high as 270.
See this image of David Robinson below? Before he even played in the NBA they penciled him in at "235" at the exact time of the image for the 1988 Olympics. The reality was he tipped the scale the Olympic committee had him stand on at 227lbs. He was also 7'0 without shoes and ripped. He was bigger than Durant has ever been. Durant probably weighs 215-220lbs.

Connie Hawkins, only an inch shorter than Durant yet looking quite a bit more sculpted - 218lbs.

dont really trust measurements. the measurements never change while the athletes are constantly looking bigger or slimmer each summer... sometimes you just have to use eyes to make your assumptions.

The guy gets defended by cp3. Thats how weak he is. And if jordan/kobe prefers to create in the post instead of off the dribble, Then the more that he should be. Theres a reason why its westbrook that creates in the clutch coz he cant.

It would improve his game if it were done right, like it has to most of the greats. Curry gained some size this season, if only slightly.
Key point being, muscle to improve power to weight ratio, which is what it is all about.

KD has a longer wingspan dude
him being heavier would be a detriment to his career length...he already has a jones fracture so why make it worse...
KD is not 6-9... he's at least 6-10

Yeah KD is taller than Ibaka and Ibaka is 6-11. Plus like I said KD + weight = Yao Ming = retire by 30years old.

At 6'9"-6'9.5" and 220 lbs-225 lbs he could use some extra muscle to be more dominant and have more edge, but not to change his game...
He's definitively not turning into a defensive anchor or rebounder. He's going to keep playing at 6'5"-6'6".

This. If he didn't have serious career threatening injuries in the past I would probably agree he needs to add some weight. It is always a catch-22 though, added weight won't necessarily make you a better player especially outside of the paint.

Just how tall is Durant? Some are saying 6'9", others 6'10" and still other are saying 6'11 1/2" + (possibly 7'0"? ) Just what is his TRUE height? Cavs? Laz?
