The same way the NFL came up with their magic yellow first down marker. It's built into the field.

I'm pretty sure a tennis ball boy runs onto the field, paints it, and runs out. That's why there's so many commercial breaks.

but seriously.
Did they make parts of the floor with lamps in them?
Because the way I see it, some of those arenas, like Staples center are reformed to host different sporting events, so it's pretty damn good technology

The moment the ref puts up one hand to indicate a 3pt attempt the camera feed is input to a computer which finds where the line is and draws a bigger one on top of it (without overlapping players) and then outputs it to the broadcast feed.

the entire floor is just one big RGB LED capable of changing colour, its a new material they've used which can double as a traditional wooden floor or ice rink. I have heard that they had to change it because on nights Curry would get hot the stadium wouldn't cool down for days so a traditional ice rink wasn't possible. First time in NBA/NHL history this problem has arose.

Players cannot see the neon light. You only see it on tv because of essentially CGI inserting it into the frame. In the end, there is a slight delay of maybe 200 millisecond while it is inserted automatically through algorithms. The delay is not noticeable.

This is retarded. The feed we see on "live" TV is always several-many secs delayed from actual "live". TV channels do this on purpose. Theres probably some lucky monkey with a BA in History with a rich dad that gets to watch the primetime games on ABC and push a button whenever some chucks a 3

OK and what does that button do? Prompt a guy in the trailer to mark the line on his screen with a sharpie?

They can see it. This is why Curry is extra amazing. Other players probably barely see it because they are right at the line. Curry shoots from 10 feet back and would have a better view of the line, yet it lighting up doesn't distract him.
