View Full Version : Why was David Lee an All-Star over Steph Curry in 2013?

How did David (WCW) Lee get picked as an All-Star Over Stephen Curry in 2013? Curry was easily the Warriors best player that season. Lee was pretty good that season, the Warriors 2nd best player by a long shot, but Curry should have gotten the nod.

Curry clearly makes his teammates worse. Turned an all star to a bench warmer. :facepalm

Umm do you not watch basketball? Did you remember all the gaurds in the west that year?

The competition to get as a gaurd was way harder then it was as a forward.

To be honest its because David Lee is white.

I'll give you 20 and 10 reasons why David Lee was an allstar.

Dont try to underrate him just so you can prop up your albino midget lover, Curry Stanley.

Steph wasn't that good tbh

He was okay though

I know a bunch of you love a bandwagon but you need to realize Steph only upped his game to supreme level last season tbh

It's easy to put up 20 / 10 when you literally play zero defense.

Please try to tell me that David Lee hasn't been a complete turnstyle for years and years now...please

Reminds me how lackluster Curry's career is.

He's had 1 great season, probably 2 after this one. People forget he's almost 28, and had a performance of 22ppg on 40% shooting against the Spurs less than 3 years ago in the playoffs.

Nobody ever talks about his lackluster past, because he looks like a beta 13 year old who's just getting started. Dudes pushing 30.

OK. David Lee hasn't been a turnstyle for years and years now. Provide counter evidence using gifs and color coded text.

Kobe, Harden, Paul, Westbrook, and Parker took the guard spots.

Who does he make it over ?

A wildcard, it can be up to six guards,

I'm not going to sit here and explain the obvious. If you can't watch a game with David Lee and make the observation that he is awful at defense then really there is no help for you.

This dude doesn't realize he's trying to use defense as an advantage for Curry over Lee.

Freaking idiot.

Anyway, Golden State didn't deserve two All-Stars and David Lee was the clear cut player on that roster who deserved an All-Star appearance.

Steph has glass ankles. That's probably why David Lee got picked.

Wasn't GSW a 50+ win team that season (or was it the next season?)

steph curry is a top 5 defender at his position

david lee is a bottom 5 defender at his position, probably worst or second worst

defense at point guard doesn't really mean a lot

defense at poewr forward is fuccing huge

Steph's breakout season kinda flew under the radar till the Warriors upset the Nuggets in the playoffs. Lee deserved his spot though. :applause:

its crazy how revisionism happens for this type of stuff.

i've seen people bunch '15 Curry with '16 Curry as if they're even on the same planet.

People are now believing Curry was the best player in the '15 Finals based on the things hes doing now. even if subconsciously.

most people didn't give a shit enough about '13 Curry or the '13 Warriors to even know about this. as if he should've automatically been an all-star.

He'd be an All-Star this year if he got the minutes.

both should have made it. Curry as the third most deserving guard behind Westbrook and Paul, Lee as an extra

:facepalm He averaged 23/7 and 24/8 on good efficiency prior to last season.

24 points, 9 assists on 47% shooting ain't nothing to scoff at, he was a their best player in 13-14, nothing revisionist about that

Because Lee was having a great year up through the break and other guards in the West were better than Curry that year.

yeah, we have to agree that he is a late bloomer.......how come he suddenly is that great at the age of 28 ?
other superstars tend to dominate straight outta college or HS
