View Full Version : Lebron just turned 32. I thought he was going to struggle after 30? Haters are mad

The Lebron haters are scared because Lebron just turned 32 and yet is still the second best player in the league. And the only reason he is second is because lightning struck and Stephen Curry is having a legendary season.

I can't believe how many times around 2010 that I would hear things like "Lebron better win now because without his athleticism he is going to fade fast".

Well, it's 2016 now, and he's still ballin'. You mad?

Here's the all-nba and MVP accolades of the 12 players that most people have in their top 10 lists:

The numbers refer to: Amount of all-nba first teams, amount of all-nba second teams, amount of all-nba third teams (I listed third teams for centers only...since centers only get one spot on the team) (Number of MVPs)

Michael Jordan: 10, 1 (6 MVP's)

Magic Johnson: 9, 1 (3 MVP's)

Larry Bird: 9, 1 (3 MVPs)

Shaq: 8, 2, 4 (1 MVP)

Duncan: 10, 3 (2 MVP's)

Hakeem: 6, 3, 3 (1 MVP)

Oscar: 9, 2, (1 MVP)

Kareem: 10, 5, X (6 MVP's)

Wilt: 7, 4, X (4 MVP's)

Kobe: 11, 2 (1 MVP)

Bill Russell: 3, 8, X (5 MVP's)

Dr. J: 5, 2 (1 MVP)

Karl Malone: 8, 2 (2 MVP's)

*an x refers to the fact that before 88 there was no such thing as an all-nba third team

Lebron: 9, 2 (4 MVP's)

This year Lebron will get another first team selection, giving him 10. And i don't see it stopping for a few years, which will give him the most first team selections of all-time.

It looks like Lebron will be consensus top 5 by the time he is done, in the same breathe as Magic and Larry

Honestly, the hate LeBron gets on here is ridiculous. He definitely will end up a top 5 player all time, and a ring or two more would solidify it. I'll go on a limb and say, disregarding accolades (though LeBron has achieved a hell of a lot, Kobe has 5 rings and longevity) and looking at pure dominance of the game, LeBron slightly surpasses Kobe all time. Who knows for sure, but it's close.

I definitely enjoy watching Kobe more though.

Actually it really does matter. His lack of range shooting, if this were to keep up, would really hurt them in the playoffs.

It doesn't matter much now because these regular season games are much easier to win and they aren't that important.

But if he shoots this poorly in the post season...they won't win it.

And regardless of all that...he's struggling right now...rather largely...in a key area...which is what makes this thread so funny.

If he is shooting so poorly from outside yet is still putting up 25 on 49%FG, then this just means he is attacking the rim at an amazing level.

Not one mention of that...which would actually be relevant to this thread, which is about the fact that Lebron can still do many of the things he was doing at 27.

He has the worst scoring efficiency he's had since the 2007 season.

Nobody is saying he's a bad player or something...he's still elite.

However, it's a bit odd to make a thread like this when the player in question has dropped off quite a bit from his recent level in terms of scoring efficiency and is shooting the ball at near career low levels.

Yes, he is playing elite. Although not on his 2008-2014 levels.

Which is still better than many would have thought he'd be doing in 2015/2016. Many thought he'd age more like Wade than MJ.

And the stats above show how 34 and 35 year old MJ scored far more in the FOURTH than prime Lebron - it's pretty damning..

Jordan also had higher APG in the playoffs thru Lebron's current age, and also in their respective primes.. By the time Lebron's career is over, its very likely that his playoff assist average is less than Jordan's.

Jordan turned 30 in February 1993 - here's his 1993 playoff and Finals stats at 30 years old:

Jordan 1993 Playoffs: 35.1 ppg.. 6.7 rpg.. 6.0 apg.. 2.9 spg.. 0.9 bpg.. 47.5 fg

Jordan 1993. Finals:., 41.5 ppg.. 8.5 rpg.. 6.3 apg.. 1.7 spg.. 0.7 bpg.. 50.8 fg

At 31 years old, he was batting over .200 in triple A minors because he's a boss like that.

Glad I could be of assistance.

If he had a respectable NBA jumpshot he'd be like his 2010 version IMO. Or at least close.

Literally everything about him outside of being the WOAT jumpshooter is at peak levels. His defense, rebounding capacity, everything. If he could hit a jumper, he'd finish easier. He's in crowded lanes every time he slashes. Still at a ridiculous 72% in the restricted area.

According to himself, he's taking more time for shooting practices now.

Before the Nuggets game, he had a workout specifically for his shooting. he watched film on his issues, and then he went out and shot 7/12 on jumpers.

im skeptical but if he can improve in that area, look out.

Jordan turned 30 in February 1993 - here's his 1993 playoff and Finals stats at 30 years old:

Jordan 1993 Playoffs: 35.1 ppg.. 6.7 rpg.. 6.0 apg.. 2.9 spg.. 0.9 bpg.. 47.5 fg

Jordan 1993. Finals:., 41.5 ppg.. 8.5 rpg.. 6.3 apg.. 1.7 spg.. 0.7 bpg.. 50.8 fg

At 31 years old, he was batting over .200 in triple A minors because he's a boss like that.

Glad I could be of assistance.

It was actually double A and .200 in double A is not good at all.
He wasn't good as a fielder either.

So you're saying at 31 his NBA playoff averages were 0/0/0/0/0 on 0%. Thanks for clarifying.

32 and still acts like an entitled b.tch.

No more glory for Lebron, he will rot away at the Cavs and their zero championships.

Yeah I am surprised too. He still depends a lot on his athletic ability but he hasn't lost much of it anyways. Is like he's a mutant or something.

thats pretty cool for a Kobe fan to admit

its insane.. still the 2nd BITW

Not easy to practice what you should be doing (like he did in Miami) when he has to also be the teams heart and soul, leader, teams GM, teams coach and etc. He has too many jobs in Cleveland which distracts his focus on just improving his form. Unfortunately there are no champions on this team to really help right the ship and Lebron has to do it all.
