View Full Version : The term ''stacked'' shouldn't be used.

It doesn't mean anything if the players don't compliment each other well.
The concept of team is much more complicated than simple addition of players.
It's a lot better to have a good coach, a good system with players who compliment each other well than having a bunch of ''talented'' players who are lost on the court because they can't be themselves.

I don't see why stacked is taken as an insult. It just means your management has built a good solid deep team.

Not necessarily. Talent =/= good team.
You can have a bunch of talented players and still fail.

Exactly.

It has no meaning if people are using it to somehow downplay how good a team is....or exaggerate how good a team is

I've used this example often and nobody responds.

The Warriors could trade Klay and Green for Harden and Love....and they'd then be a "stacked team" by any definition

But they'd also be demonstrably worse.

I can't, for the life of me, grasp why people can't see the difference.

But, of course, it's just agenda driven non sense that people actually looking to have a sensible conversation...I guess...just can't anymore on here

It's only because it's too complicated as a concept for most of the members in here.
Too dumb to get it.

Stacked is not a guarantee, but it is a huge advantage that should not be ignored.

Guess I didn't mean it to be exclusive like that, just talking in terms of this warriors line up which i'm guessing this thread is in response too. I agree 100% that a team with talent isn't always the best team. My definition of stacked wouldn't just be having 3 all stars, it'd be having depth and fit.

Pure speculation on your part....especially assuming "demonstrably worse" as in suggesting they's miss the playoffs or first round exit.

certain superstars compliment their players better than others

the ability to be elite off ball and in shooting is huge factor in that

Of course it's speculation...

No...that doesn't mean they'd miss the playoffs or be a first round exit.

That's false.
It depends on players with whom the superstar plays.
In some cases, your statement is true, in others no.

Big mistake by Rick to not call timeout and get Dirk back in the game when they were up 6 coming off that stop.

Shouldn't have waited...score there and it's game.

Now it's in doubt.
