pace was way more higher so players had a ton more transition opportunities, the top guys found it much easier to get to the rim. Obviously, the top defensive teams like the Pistons or the Celtics could play D, but if MJ could drop 63 in the POs on Boston after missing most of the year due to a broken leg, imagine how easy it was for him to drop 30-40 points every night against the medicore/bad defensive teams.
