Exceeding my expectations, tbh. Good for him.
I can see why he's always been Kobe's favorite player. :applause:

You miss 100% of the shot you don't take. Melo only misses 77% of the shots he does take. The math checks out.

Are you really trying to argue that Melo is as good, or even close to as good as KD? Are you really arguing that? Is that truly the point you're trying to make? You seriously would like us to believe that? We are actually to conclude that based upon your statements?

Compared to Kawhi? No.
Actually it's quite close.
When comparing their defensive (real) plus or minus it's a lot closer than you might think.
Kawhi Leonard, SF SA 2.98 (ORPM) 4.59 (DRPM) 7.57 (RPM) (WAR)12.67
Khris Middleton, SF MIL 1.97(ORPM) 4.09 (DRPM) 6.06 (RPM)
(WAR) 12.42
Looking at DWS:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/middlkh01.html
Khris Middleton: DWS: 3.5
Kawhi Leonard: DWS: 4.4
Kawhi Leonard:
DEFENSE/REBOUNDING
Rebound % 12%
Block % 1.8%
Steal % 3.4%
Defensive +/- +3.5
Khris Middleton:
DEFENSE/REBOUNDING
Rebound % 8%
Block % 0.5%
Steal % 2.3%
Defensive +/- +0.5
The last bunch of statistics, is a little bit misleading as it is the weighted average of the last 3 seasons, Kawhi has been more established and thus has been more consistent.

"Best scorer in the league!" according to many ISHiots and talking heads on LeSPN.
Lakers will probably trade for him this season or next off season though...

I'm not really big on stats when it comes to defense, but nba.com has player tracking stats. Last season, players attempted 9.2 shots a game while being defended by Kawhi and made 4 of them at 44.2%, compared to 44.6% while being defended by others. Kawhi decreased their production by 0.4%.
Chris Middleton defended the same number of shots a game, but players only made 3.6 of their shots against him at 39.5%, compared to 43.9% against others. A difference of 4.3%.
As I said, stats are not to be trusted while evaluating defense. Take it for what it's worth.
