A sign of what's to come? Is he a threat to win the scoring title? He's likely going to have his best statistical season ever this year but at the price of a terrible team. I think he could pull a Jerry Stackhouse type season

He's definitely be in the conversation. Probably will play every game this year and will be the main reason Portland won't be THAT bad.

I don't see a Stackhouse season, I think Lillard is more efficient and a better playmaker. If he's going to get the full green light on offense, he'll probably much worse defensively.

Expect an Gail Goodrich 1972 type of year.

watch chris paul for most of that and he's literally at half speed

just bouncing off screens and giving up

still lillard looks crazy fast this season. his usage will be among the highest in the league. but scoring title for a point guard with distributing responsibilities on top is usually a tough sell... and lillard is a proud playmaking pg.

25/8 is very possible though.

Another team that will be better than the Mavs

Well he may win the scoring title, but his team will have a 20 wins season.
:facepalm

Good sign, normally he is at his worst vs CP.

Was he always this quick and explosive or did he work on it this offseason? He looked like a smaller version of Westbrook or Rose on some of those drives

He looked extra quick last night. I was impressed.

Maybe if he puts up MVP numbers and doesn't get the award, he'll pen the world another angry letter. :oldlol:

Right now, odds on him winning the scoring title is at +1500. Meaning if you bet $1, you win $15.

He has a nice stroke and the other night he looked more explosive than he has before. But let's remember that it is preseason so of course he is going to look fresh. We will see if he has that same bounce in his step after 50+ games into the season.

Lillard will have his flashes but he still can be inconsistent. He will raise his points per game 2 to 3 points at the most. Any higher and he is gonna see a big drop in his efficiency.

Saying that someone lit up a team and their team losing doesn't sound right.

Haha, I was going to say this before I read that part: "he's certainly going to shoot enough...he could have a stackhouse 2001 season I suppose". The main difference there though, is that Lillard isn't close to as good at getting to the rim and getting to the line. He is a better shooter though. He'll probably average around 26-28ppg on 22-23 shots while playing even worse defense than he already has played in the past.

That's a main point of this thread. Lillard looks a lot quicker and more explosive going to the rim right now.

thats what happens when your team loses 4 of its starting 5 players (including their best player) from the previous season
