Only 4 players ever have done this.

Hint: One of them is active.

Danny green should be one

Nope he was 13 blocks short last year.

I thought Dirk, but he didn't do it.

DMAVS41

Did Durant do it?

RRR3
10-17-2015, 07:03 PM
Dirk was 8 steals short and 1 3 short in 2004. 3 steals short and 9 3s short in 2005.

@ John Max,

Nope none of those guys have done it. I would guess Wade has been close during the years he took 3s, but I think the most 3s he ever made is around 88.

Warfan

KD's the active one, no idea about the others tho :lol

RRR3
10-17-2015, 07:04 PM
Did Durant do it?
Yes sir!

That is the active player :applause:

Can you guys name the 3 others?

DMAVS41

Rasheed Wallace?

Sabonis?

He was close in 2000. Missed it by 8 blocks and 5 threes.

RRR3
10-17-2015, 07:08 PM
Sabonis?
nope though good guess based on his play style. But he never played nearly enough games and minutes to accumulate said stats, and he didn't take enough 3s.

Triple A- Yes sir :applause:

@Legends, No I was surprised T-Mac hadn't done it myself. Pippen missed it by 11 blocks in 95.

Robert horry

Was going to be my next guess...he had to have done it.

RRR3

You guys want a hint for the last one?

DMAVS41
10-17-2015, 07:12 PM
Jason Kidd?

RRR3
10-17-2015, 07:14 PM
Nah Kidd never blocked that many shots. For a PG, yeah, but only 0.3 BPG career, peaking at 0.5

TripleA
10-17-2015, 07:16 PM
Shane battier

RRR3
10-17-2015, 07:18 PM
You'd think Battier would have done it, but while he achieved all three categories at various times, he never had all 3 in one season.

DMAVS41
10-17-2015, 07:18 PM
Cliff Robinson?

Fallen Angel

Before this thread I predicted Wade, Jordan, Kidd, and AK-47. Guess I was wrong.

RRR3
10-17-2015, 07:19 PM
No, none of those guys.

SHAQisGOAT
10-17-2015, 07:21 PM
So... KD, Horry and Sheed?

Other one is probably Battier, Shawn Marion, Clifford Robinson, Pippen or Bird... I don't believe Larry ever had 100 3's in a season though, nor even blocks...

Edit:

Bird's career high for blocks and 3's is 98.

Pippen didn't do it.

Battier also not?

So it's Marion or Cliff, I think...

Who do you guys think (amongst active players) can join this club?

I think if AD becomes a good 3Pt shooter he could. Terrence Jones if he breaks out?

DMAVS41
10-17-2015, 07:23 PM
Donyell Marshall?

Uncle Drew
10-17-2015, 07:24 PM
Draymond was one block away last season.

Draymond was one steal away last season.

Got it :applause:

Yea, after searching some of those players on bball-reference I was down to 2... I remember Matrix averaging like 2 steals and 2 blocks per game, while shooting the 3ball well...

Suprises me a bit that only 4 players have done it though... Guess it's a very elite club then...

Fallen Angel
10-17-2015, 07:26 PM
How far was Westbrook last season?

DMAVS41
10-17-2015, 07:26 PM
Haha. I kept thinking Marion was active.

RRR3
10-17-2015, 07:26 PM
No, Just KD AD Matrix and Horry. Marshall was just 7 steals away in 2004, though, so excellent guess. I find Marshall fascinating for some reason, he wasn't a stud or anything, but good lord could he do a lot of different things. I bet he was a valuable fantasy player. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/marshdo01.html

Yeah Draymond will get it most likely.

Uncle Drew

How far was Westbrook last season?
Didn't come close. He gets 30 blocks a season tops.

RRR3
10-17-2015, 07:29 PM
@Fallen Angel, Very Far. WB doesn't get blocks really. Only PGs who do at all that i can think of are MCW, Livingston, Wall and Bledsoe.

@ShaqisGOAT,

Yeah, though Bird would have had a better chance if he played in a league where more 3s were taken. For instance, in 1985, he had 129 steals and 98 blocks, but only attempted 131 3s (he made 56, or 42.7%).

I wonder if players who played in the past could have done it. Seems like Jerry West could have, no?

Fallen Angel

Yea, Draymond will eventually do it.

True, he definitely would've pulled the 3's off if he played in "3pt era"...
For the blocks, he was 2 away once so I don't know, maybe if zone was legal in the rule book... Can't tell.

Jerry West maybe, yea, I don't know about the blocks though...

Jerry Lucas would've been another great "choice".

If Jack Sikma came up with the 3pt-line he would've stood pretty good chances... In 1982 he had 102 steals and 107 blocks, but only really started to shoot 3's later on in his final years, once making 82 of them shooting 38%.

Gervin, English and McAdoo pulled off 100 steals/blocks, and they could really shoot that thing but didn't come up with the 3pt-line nor played in 3pt-era.

RRR3
10-17-2015, 07:53 PM
The reason I thought West could do it is because at 35 in 1974 (his final season) he averaged 2.6 SPG and 0.7 BPG (3.0 and 0.9 per 36 minutes). And I know he could shoot it. Granted he only played 31 games.

It's also surprising LeBron hasn't done this. He was closest in 2009, but was 7 block short.

Danny Green has a good shot.

Horry?

WayOfWade
10-18-2015, 03:19 AM
Players who could do it today? Well KD did it once, so I imagine he could do it again. I can't see AD ever putting in 100 threes in a season, even if he develops a good 3-point shot. Draymond Green is your best bet to join that club though.

And BTW, fantastic thread RRR3, good job

Michael Jordan would have easily done this if he came up in this era. he didn't shoot any 3's back when he was getting 100 blocks per season.

Maybe kawhi leonard, his maximum blocks are 50, but he is still very young..

1974 Pace - 107.8
2015 Pace - 93.9

Not taking anything away from West, but that high paced era was perfect for racking up stats.
