Sorry for the english.
Zach Randholph - Played no defence, took bad shots and really sucked in NYC.
Today he is extremly respected for his rebounding, offense in the post and hard play

Paul Pierce - A good solid player, but really made no noise in his young prime because of lack of winnung and players like Iverson, Carter, Kobe, Mcgrady etc.
Today he is a legend and is still making noise in the playoffs.

Dirk Nowitzki - Considered soft, the Mavs would never win as a shooting team.
Today he is considered a legend just like Pierce.

This makes me think, who are todays players who can suddenly become finals MVP. Carmelo Anthony? Kevin Love?

I can kinda see Z-bo and Pierce could be considered "overlooked", but Dirk? Dude won a MVP award roughly 10 years ago. I don't think he was overlooked per se, it's just his prime coincided with Duncan, Shaq, Garnett, Webber, etc.

Ben Wallace. Went undrafted, did well in the league for years without gaining any attention until he was with Detroit.

You could add Billups to that list to.

Only Z-Bo from your list was/is overlooked. Dirk and Pierce, not so much. Those guys have been perinatal All-Stars since the beginning of their careers. Have championships, MVPs and multiple Finals appearances.

Zach was an afterthought until a few years ago Does anyone even remember him playing for the post Brand-pre CP3 Clippers? And those terrible mid-late 2000's Knicks with Francis and Marburry and the great Jerome James.Dirk and Pierce being overlooked. Both have been perinatal all-stars for the majority of their careers. 10+ All-Star games for each, not to mention Championships, MVPs and FInals appearancees.

Now, Z-Bo he is overlooked. He was an afterthought up until a few years ago. He came in at the tail end of the Blazers success in the early 2000s. Does anyone ever remember him playing for the post Brand-pre CP3 Clippers and the terrible mid-late 90s Knicks with Marburry, Francis and the great Eddy Curry and Jerome James?

Pİerce was so underrated . I think he's better than Iverson at between 2001-2005 .

Agreed. Much of that team in fact. Rip was thrown away by Jordan like hot garbage.

Staying on that Pistons team, arguable Sheed. Not enough gave him credit for what he was until he helped anchor one of the alltime great defenses while winning a championship.

Wasn't overlooked, but I don't know of any player who benefited more from a late career surge than Ray Allen in his 12th year, past his peak, going to the Celtics (and then Heat). Ray's last 7 years as a role player completely changed the epitaph of his career.

I think people are underrating what a true center can bring to team. So currently Hassan Whiteside and Rudy Gobert. Also sleepers in fantasy leagues.

I also remember him being labeled a cancer when he was with Portland.

The 2011 playoffs when Memphis upset the Spurs is when people really started to talk about Randolph. I remember KD saying he was the best PF in the league at one point during that postseason when he was killing OKC. Sometimes all it takes is one playoff series/run to elevate your status.

Wade

He's a top 20 player of all time.

I don't think Pierce was necessarily overlooked. He got some props throughout his career. I think he was just low key. After all, he had a more colorful character on his team that was always in the limelight for one reason or another.

Tyson Chandler? I always thought that people said Chris Paul made him till he won in Dallas.
