There's really nothing that supports that. If you want to go by numbers, it favors Cousins quiet a lot. He rebounds, steals, blocks shots (average at the rim, but below 48%), takes charges (lead the league 2 years in a row), and even advanced stats he ranks highly.

Numbers are meaningless on defense. He's a big man who isn't a shot blocker and isn't quick enough to guard anyone on switches.

Christ. It's fine if you think the guy is an average defensive player, but the reality is that nobody fears him, whether it's opposing bigmen or little guys, he has no intimidation factor whatsoever.

I can already tell you what will happen this year. They'll start off like 4-0 and then 12-5 or so and then proceed to lose the majority of games as they always do. People need to just accept that he's not a franchise player. But the volatile guys always get overrated for some reason.
