Didn't see a thread on it, but he did say he was done after the Finals were over. Thou th t he could have at least contributed something with the Cavs depleted as they were.

Sad way to go out. Ends up joining Lebron even after calling him a bitch to his face in the 2011 Finals...can't even crack the rotation either.
Oh well, still a great career.

Kudos to this class act from UNLV. He was a huge piece to those run and gun Sun's team putting up heavy numbers. Also played a paramount role on the Mavs championship team in 2011.
Cheers Matrix. I'll never forget your ugly jumper

Borderline (outside looking in?) HOF, no? Lowkey he got one of the nicest peak lines: 21.8/11.8/1.8 2 steals/1.7 blocks on .525/.331/.809. So practically 22/12 2 steals and blocks (overall elite defense) on efficient scoring.
I mean, people were trying to convince me Joe Johnson deserves to be there. His case isn't much better than Marion's.

I would posit that Marion has a much strong case of getting in than Joe, Jimmy...

Dirk validated him, carried him to heights Nash never could

I sad that 2 weeks ago, or maybe a week ago, should have played Shrumpert at PG put Marion at SF, but let him check Curry or Livingston.

Nash made Marion look better then he actually was, same thing he did with Quintin Richardson

Really never made to an All D team? Wow. Nba d teams are stupid sometimes; kobe has gotten the first team a couple of years ago over tony allen. Kobe was barely average then on most plays

Because if you saw him play this season you would know he was finished. After he injured his calf he fell out the rotation completely and was set for retirement.

but why did he fall out of the rotation? I never really understood that. He played very well before he got injured and didn't seem to even get a chance to play again afterwards.

Great player!
I'm happy he retires with his well earned ring rather than with another he did nothing to contribute to.

ORRRRRRRRRRRRR, he needs to play with D Will and force his retirement :oldlol:
Just kiddin man
About Marion, he's made plenty of money and has a ring. No sense in holding on when your health is deteriorating.

4 time allstar
2 time all-nba (3rd team)
1 NBA title (starter in all 21 playoff games)
35th all time NBA in rebounding
17th all time NBA in steals
50th all time NBA in blocks
73rd all time NBA in points
37th all time NBA winshare
26th all time NBA VORP
If you want to look at traditional box score stats, he's certainly a hall guy. Advanced "wins added" stats say hall guy.
Basketball reference's hall probability scores him 75.6% (89th higher score all time).
Peak levels if you like winshare or VORP was he was top 10 in the NBA 4 and 5 times respectively.
His playoff stats career were iffy so if you're looking for a knock on him there's that. Given some of the scrubs who are there, I think he's a pretty safe bet.
