We had OKC vs Miami finals, LAL vs Celtics and none of those came close to this year's finals in ratings. Why do you think the ratings are so high? Is it because of Cavs' injuries? Best player in the world being an underdog and everyone want to see how he does?

EDIT:Just checked, i was wrong. Warriors/Rockets gave better ratings than Cavs/Hawks,and Bulls/cavs gave better ratings than Warriors/Grizzlies.

I think there are multiple reasons:
1. Lebron returning to Cleveland, prodigal son
2. Great sports story for Cleveland who has never won an NBA title and hasn't won basically anything in ages.
3. Steph the MVP vs. Bron
5. Depleted Cavs vs. Stacked Warriors
4.Its just been a great series thus far, and with what Lebron is doing, it makes sense that more and more people are tuning in.

I was watching women's track and field and some other show. Totally forgot the Finals were on.

it's 2 franchises that arent regularly in the finals, it as nice change of pace. curry has gotten a lot of exposure so people know who he is now, and lebron always is a big name. the warriors are a lot flashier than the spurs, a lot younger, and fast paced. it's more fun to watch for casual fans.
