Hes the greatest 3pt shooter for sure. Anyone who thinks hes the greatest overall shooter doesnt account for the jumpshots inside the arc

People really need to relax. He's an all time
Great shooter. But claiming OF ALL TIME when he hasn't done shit yet outside of one MvP?

You know what defines a goat shooter? Do that shit when it matters.

Yes, but are you credibly going to say a player who shoots 33% from 3 in the playoffs is the greatest shooter?

Your retort is laughable.

3 pointers are the one area where he should be excelling. If we're just gonna talk 2s he doesn't come anywhere close to the GOAT shooter title.

Did I ever say Durant was the greatest shooter ever? Nope. Maybe if you looked around a bit, you'd know I never said that. I came in this thread, read the topic, scrolled down and saw your comment saying "33% shooter from 3s in the playoffs". Of course any person would think that you were trying to make it look like 3 pt shooting is the only part of being a good shooter because you didn't mention anything about inside shooting.

So you took my comment out of context, and are blaming me for it.

Shut up and leave this thread already.

Hasn't done shit but win one MVP? :oldlol:
That statement is just new levels of stupid. Just win one MVP? Just? Winning one MVP puts him in elite company. How many individual MVP winners are there?

"Do it when it matters"... Yeah, he has really been sucking at that recently. Shooting like 44% from three these playoffs and leading his team to the finals.

No where did I imply that shooting 3s is the only requirement to be a great shooter.

You're twisting my words again. I said your comment made it look like a player's 3 point shooting shows if they're a good shooter or not. The topic is self-explanatory. Cowboy Thunder makes the first post of the thread showing Durant make a game winning 3 in a gif. You replied to that gif mentioning Durant's 3 pt shooting and nothing else. Obviously that would make a person think that you're only talking about how 3 pt shooting determines whether or not the player is a good shooter.

You're not supposed to post this kind of stuff.. you know, logic. It's bad for the the agenda of the thread. That's why you haven't gotten a response yet.

Shit, maybe the Warriors do need to go after Durant so that they can have someone who won't fall apart in the clutch
What separates Durant (and players like M.J., Kobe, LeBron, and Dirk) from Curry in the clutch is genetics. As unfair as it is, Curry being 6'3" and not all that athletic means it's MUCH more difficult for him to get off a semi-clean look in a clutch situation when all the defense knows he's going to shoot it. You can triple team Durant, but at 6'10" with a 7'4" wingspan, he can still generate a clean look given the situation. LeBron with his size and strength, and Jordan and Kobe with their size, length, athleticism and footwork can create semi-clean shots in the clutch much more easily than Curry. That's also why, in general, Curry is easier to take out of games than those players.

He's still a phenomenal player but I still don't think he's still a pretty clear notch below LeBron and Durant (when healthy) right now, and a pretty clear notch or so below other recent greats at their peak and in their prime like Kobe, Duncan, Wade, and Dirk.

You can't just discredit the dude's entire season after tonight. Deserved the MVP and had a great playoffs going into tonight's game. But it was an awful, awful performance today no doubt.

"The goat 3pt shooter"
The 2-15 game will forever be remembered just like 6/24 and 8pts

J Shuttlesworth
06-08-2015, 12:46 AM
He might be the best shooter of all time, but he's certainly worthy of criticism when he has such an awful game in the finals as the season MVP

That was the most 3 pointers missed by a player in NBA finals history

The media will hardly criticize him though. They'll say "lack of experience"

If it were LeBron at the same age, he'd be crucified for having that game, especially with the OT airball and turnover
