View Full Version : If MJ wasn't bored of being the GOAT Kobe OR Lebron wouldn't have sniffed his records

The dude literally decided to go play Baseball after putting up phenomenal stats in the finals/playoffs/regular season

If he never had that gap, do you really think Kobe would've passed his scoring record, and Lebron passing his arbitrary semi-triple double records?

I'm not shitting on the GOAT, I'm just wondering what records Lebron and Kobe were supposed to be passing. It's not 11 and it's not whatever number Wilt owns.

If NBA were actually counting some of Wilt's stats, he would've more than 56 nba records that he already has.

a) he didnt get "bored"

he was banned for violating the leagues anti gambling rules

b) he played in 1995 and got butt****ed

c) 2 more full seasons of mileage and no 1.8 year vacation and maybe he isnt as good in 1998 at age 34

d) the bulls probably dont have the ability to retool and stack their roster with players like rodman/kerr/harper/kukoc if jordan doesnt retire in 1993

also if his 30 million extension comes a year earlier theres no way they can afford rodman

e) change the timeline and maybe kerrs shot to win the title in 1997 never happens

f) rodman was the most important player in that sonics series ( says george karl. ) without him do they still win?

g) winning 8 straight is nearly impossible. if they win in 94 and even 95. it woulda been next to impossible to stay healthy for 8 straight deep playoff runs in a row

nope

probably ends up with the same or less titles more than likely

imagine if kobe retired after 2010... a few years go by... boom lakers reloaded with a bunch of free agents.. great new picks... kobe comes back with fresher legs than ever and no achilles injury

maybe LA is in the finals in 2013,2014,2015 because of it

its a major advantage

I agree with kenneth. Bran > MJ > Kobe.

a) he didnt get "bored"

he was banned for violating the leagues anti gambling rules

Proof? :confusedshrug:

b) he played in 1995 and got butt****ed

How is losing a close series to a stacked team with a .500 squad after missing virtually 2 seasons getting 'butt****ed'?

Next season they swept that same super team no problem.

c) 2 more full seasons of mileage and no 1.8 year vacation and maybe he isnt as good in 1998 at age 34

He wasn't sitting around eating Ben and Jerry's. It wasn't a vacation... he was playing against future MLB players in a sport he hadn't played since he was a kid.

d) the bulls probably dont have the ability to retool and stack their roster with players like rodman/kerr/harper/kukoc if jordan doesnt retire in 1993

Bulls get Kukoc regardless, they had his rights since the '90 draft if I'm not mistaken. And there's no reason why they wouldn't get those other guys just because Jordan came back. They got Rodman and Harper after MJ returned.

also if his 30 million extension comes a year earlier theres no way they can afford rodman

Except when he got the extension... Rodman was still on the team. He was getting under $4 mil in '95 when they got Dennis... in '97 he got $30 mil... Dennis was still on the team. :confusedshrug:

e) change the timeline and maybe kerrs shot to win the title in 1997 never happens

Change the timeline and maybe they blow out the Jazz. That's completely illogical.

The one constant that was proven during the Bulls championship run was that Jordan was the most clutch muhphucka who ever lived.

f) rodman was the most important player in that sonics series ( says george karl. ) without him do they still win?

They won championships without Rodman... but it's unthinkable that they couldn't do it again? Besides... why wouldn't they have him? :confusedshrug:

g) winning 8 straight is nearly impossible. if they win in 94 and even 95. it woulda been next to impossible to stay healthy for 8 straight deep playoff runs in a row

It's not impossible and had Jordan stayed, it would've happened. The Rockets would've been the worst team they faced in the finals, especially in '95. And he would've had 2 more finals MVPs, 2 more scoring titles, 1 or 2 more season MVPs, 4500 more season points, 900 more postseason points.
