This season
1- Wolves
2- Knicks
3- sixers
4- Lakers
5- Magic
Any predictions on the bottom 5 next season?
The wolves and sixers are near locks to tank hard again, and I'd assume the Lakers will too unless something crazy happens this offseason. NY would not get their own pick so their tank is over.
sixers will trade tony wroten so they can make sure that they can have their bigs playing but with minor league guards they have no chance to win. My guess is they use rookie guards w embiid and Noel and draft someone that won't come over yet. They should win the tanka thon
Lakers are the team that could win the biggest in free agency when this cap spike comes. They should wait out Kobe's contract and go into another offseason w 100 million to use. I think they sign some more Jordan hill type deals. Really traceable expiring or non guaranteed deals. They'll either acquire stars this offseason or nobody long terms at all.
Wolves and okafor deserve each other. They will still lose all the time but people will be really jacked about wiggins/okafor duo
Boston should have been tanking this season and next but they just have too good of a coach.
1- Sixers
2-wolves
3- lakers
4- hornets
5- suns

Lakers, Nuggets, Knicks, T-Wolves, 76ers
After Duncan, Ginobili, and Pop retires, I wonder how long before the Spurs are in tank mode. Unless they get some good free agents, I can't imagine Parker and Leonard with a new coach doing much in the west.

I find it funny some of yall think knicks will be bottom 5 next year, like what do think they are gonna do this offseason... worst case they overpay for above avg talent and have another low 40s/high 30s win season.

Nugs is a good pick if they try. If they don't trade guys I don't see how they could be that bad.
No chance the Knicks do any tanking. Maybe they'll still be that bad but they won't be trying to tank so 30 million in cap space, a Top 5 pick and health of Carmelo and bargnani and there's no way they're a bottom 5 team.

i think with a new coaching hire + a top 5 pick the magic will improve to a playoff team. hennigan's job depends on it. i actually expect some offseason moves

maybe so. but they have kind of bottomed out. it's going to take a huge signing to propel them

Man I hope you guys are right but unless we make some good tanking trades we won't be top 5. Again.

Impossible to say with certainty since we haven't had the draft or free agency, but Dallas needs to blow it up.
OKC, Utah, Denver will take their playoff spot next year, best case scenario is a low seed and a first round exit. They building around Parsons or some shit, wtf is that?
Kings are so dysfunctional that idk if Karl can help them out.
Detroit could be awful though, forgot about them.

The nets don't have any picks and they still might blow it up. It's that bad.
Knicks need multiple pieces for #1 pick type trade. This litter has to go New York at 1 and Minnesota at 4. That gives the sixers 5 and 6. Need two "underdogs" teams 5-14 to win spots 2 and 3. Then it makes the sixers and wolves possible trade partners.
Leonard would be amazing
Why would Philly do w picks 5&6 if they had 2?

Why would Philly do w picks 5&6 if they had 2?Winslow & Hezonja would be my guess. Doubt they would trade up by combining those particular picks. Gives them top level wing talent, which they don't have much of right now. Not to say Roco, Grant, Thompson etc. aren't promising players or lack potential to be contributors on a real team, but those other guys could be stars.
They can pick up a PG or two later in draft by combining 2nd rounders and/or using their > $30M in cap space to take back deals + picks.
