Awesome read, thanks to Smoke for finding this. Explains to you how Wade transitioned with age and is still producing at all-star level with the minutes given. He has become one of the best players in the post. Something Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant adapted to as well as they got older. Young shooting guards should take notes. Your body can't stay healthy forever, and you have to adapt and play smart.

Kobe and Michael did it with an elite fadeaway jumpshot. Wades fadeaway from the post isn't bad, but he's mostly doing it with hook shots over and top and floaters.

Hopefully LeBron adapts to this as well in 3-4 years, especially given how strong he is and how good of a finisher around the rim he is. Passing out of the post he would still be able to get his 5-6 APG, and maintain efficient.

Wade is possibly the most disrespected all time great there ever was. Some analysts and casual fans will tell you he isn't a top 50 player ever.

Wade's injuries and early decline distorts the perception of how good he actually used to be. And now that he is 33 years old and having a respectable season 22 ppg 4 rpg 5 assists on 48 % shooting while dragging his team to the playoffs, it is getting brushed aside and people act like he's some scrub.

Happy for Wade. He needed to do this for a while and he is doing it.

To put things in perspective, Wade is on the verge of joining Michael Jordan as the only 33+ year old guards to average 20+ppg on 48% shooting. I don't think people fully appreciate how rare it is for a guard his age to be as productive as he's been, especially at 6'3. His "old man game" is a thing of beauty and he's stayed true to the strengths of his game by not falling in love with the 3 ball as many older guards do.
