This has always been his pet move, but until this season it seemed like a cop-out shot. He's a big strong guy, but he would go to the hook instead of going hard to the rim for contact (he barely gets to the line for a big man, kinda like Al Jefferson). This season he's been smarter at employing the hook, and he's been more efficient at it than every other scoring big.

:applause: think you KSlife for finally getting your game down. He's never been a bad shooter either, he just never mentally knew when to shoot, when to drive, when to pass, when to pivot, or when to go to the hook. He had all the moves but it's finally come together this year.

What other players are like that right now? Guys who have good skills/go to moves but just don't know how to employ them at the right times? Oladipo comes to mind.

How many attempts?

How many attempts?
62. The only people with more attempts are Dwight, B Lopez, Griffin, and Pau. They all shoot between 40-50%

Per minute I think he shoots more hooks than anyone.

Pretty impressive. I wonder if he only attempts them point blank while the other guys are more likely to do them 5 feet out?

Agreed. Always been a fan of the hook. I would also like to know how far out he can go with them.

Nah, I've been watching him his whole career, and he'll put them up from 10ft willingly. He shoots more close ones than I'd like, but that goes back to my point about him not going in hard for contact.

Good point on Oladipo. He literally can get to the rim whenever he wants and his finishing is getting so much better. I'm okay with catch and shoot 3s and midrange jumpers off the pick but otherwise I want him going to the rim every time for freethrows

I always thought Kevin would be decent, he always had skills just played like a puss to much, I think having Dre in the 2nd unit force feed him the ball has really helped him.

Seraphin only plays 15.6 mpg. Plenty of other dudes have taken more shots, but not many have taken more hooks per minute. Seraphim's go to move is this hook shot, and it always has since his rookie year.

So, assuming these are the main hook shooters, Dwight has actually shot more hooks than anyone else? :wtf:
40% made, though. :facepalm
