@Mike_Bresnahan: Lakers asking league if they can keep treating Xavier Henry, who tore his Achilles last month. Was waived yesterday to make room for Black.

@MarkG_Medina: Lakers are still allowing Xavier Henry to work at their facility to rehab

Lakers have always gone out of their way to take care of players like this...

Turiaf being a more public example

thought i seen a report saying his career was pretty much over?I hadn't read that, I'd think it was way too early to be making those kind of judgements considering he's a couple months into what should be a 1 year recovery

Gotta respect the Lakers. They take care of their players like no other team in the league. The Buss's might not always make great team decision but you have to admire the loyalty.

Yeah, Lakers are always taking care of their players or former players.

Look at the amount of former lakers working in some type of way for the organization, from Kareem, worthy and Jerry West, to Mitch and Brian shaw and Mark Madsen. All these guys spend Career's with the laker organization.
And Byron Scott.

Laker Family is the motto.

Smush Parker is only guy that won't get that kind of treatment from the Lakers.

The only time Smush is relevant is when we prop up Kobe's 06 season

he's a horrible player with an even worse attitude... his entire stretch with the Lakers was one big pile of cringe worthy moments

i'm a fairly thoughtful fan, give Lakers players a ton of slack especially young ones but Smush is one of the few that had me actually yelling at my TV

Laker fans tired their hardest to love Smush and Kawame. They both just made it very difficult at times.

This.

Not even Wes Johnson gets me as fired up as Smush did when he'd **** up.

I always liked Kwame, hands of stone but the effort was there...

I remember for some odd reason he'd play better when the crowd would cheer loud for him. :lol

I think he had the skills, lord knows Jackson was in love with the guy

he just was never able to put it all together, not the smartest player but a center doesn't have to be ball in hole, block and rebound

But yeah the LA fan base stuck by him for longer than you'd expect... I think most of us wanted to see Kwame reach his potential

If I remember right he had a pretty rough childhood and his time with Jordan and the Wizards was well documented, we (LA Fans) were all hoping for a Cinderella story
