Harden

Pretty insane how both of them were on the same team along with the actual MVP Kevin Durant, who can put up these same kinda stats himself. I wonder if OKC was the only team in NBA history to have 3 MVP caliber type talents playing at the same time.

Okay, I see.

Also Earl Monroe was MVP caliber. He just let Frazier and Reed run the show. Evidence was shown once he started putting up big numbers (20 ppg seasons again) as those Knicks teams dwindled down with the retirements of Reed, Lucas, DeBusschere and the trading of Frazier to the Cavs,

And so was Parish, he just sacrificed. Parish has higher MVP shares than McHale, by the way. While both peaked at 4th in MVP voting, Parish has another top ten entry which McHale doesn't. Parish also has three more top 15 entries and McHale two top 20s.

Three perimeter players would not work, history tells us that. And three players who's games are very similar at that.

Would have basically been a better version of Run-TMC. And they almost one, with James not yet a focal point. Are more prominent role for James takes away from KD and Westbrook.

If Westbrook was more or a pass first type point/but still can get his a-la Isiah Thomes and Harden more of a Sidney Moncrief/Joe Dumars SG to go along with Durant, than they wouldn't lose a game.

steals and blocks are deceiving and dont make a good defender.

Dtrg is flawed when comparing players, and it needs context to be used.

i have actually watched westbrook and harden play for the last 4/5 years ALOT, and i can confortably say harden(while a improved) is still an average defender at best. westbrook still gambles a bit too much for my liking, but he is a top 10 defending guard imo

Aside from Harden's rough shooting start to the season, he's been amazing and has taken his game to a whole new level. Racking up points and also grabbing rebounds, getting blocks & steals, and getting his teammates involved. Total complete player this year. He's also been mega clutch. IMO, Harden is the top candidate for the MVP award

This. Anyone who says Harden isn't a good defender is talking out of his ass. Harden has been outstanding defensively. He constantly blocks and alters shots. He legitimately has a case for All Defensive 1st team this year. i don't think he will continue to play at such a high level defensively. He'll probably regress to slightly above average, but as of now...he's definitely playing elite defense.

Come on man, be serious. Westbrook is arguably the best PG in the league and PG is the most stacked position. That just means he has to cover a very good point guard at LEAST every other game. And in the West, 9 out of 10 teams have top level point guards. Meanwhile the SG position is pretty weak. Who is his competition? Kobe is hurt, Klay is an up and comer. Ellis? Westbrook is not a lazy defender. I saw a play against the Knicks where Harden stopped at halfcourt on defense, literally stopped when he could have played defense on a fast break. Ever heard of eye test?
