He's right. The problem is only one team in the division has played well consistently. You'd think that a team with Melo in a bad conference could get a respectable record. But the Knicks apparently have an offense that most of the team doesn't understand. Derozan's injury would create an opportunity if they were competent.

Well yeah, it would be open if they were good. Never really thought of it that way.

Big maybe too. They are really inconsistent bunch and this a very telling stat so far. They are 1-7 vs teams with a .500 or better record. That 1 win came in OT vs the Spurs. The rest of the division is even worse outside Toronto.

If bBoston could hold onto the game after goin 20+ up they'd be second in the division
