Looked up Harden just for a frame of reference:

It's early so those numbers are going to change a ton, but so far Kobe and the Lakers have just been awful in close games.

None of the reasons you mentioned apply to this ''winning mentality'' or ''winning basketball'' which I was hearing about all these years on here when it comes to Kobe. I don't like getting into Lebron vs Kobe debate but Kobe fans always used this ''Kobe is a better winner'' argument.
