Can't believe the kind of hate he's getting because he's asian and getting a 25 million contract playing a black man's sport. Come on just admit you envy him, his living your(our) dream, has a harvard degree and his good at maths and kung fu to boot.

Not only is he the worst starter, he's a scrub who would never be in the NBA if he wasn't Asian according to some posters here.

People hate him because he sucks. Turns the ball over too much, average defender, and is an extremely inconsistent scorer. Does everything have to be about race/color?

He's not the worst starter in the league though.

He doesnt suck, hes just an average starter. He's not as good as his fans make it out to be, but he also doesn't suck like knee-jerkers make him out to be

nah, kobe lost the game for LA. There is much more to the game than the last 5 minutes. kobe taking inefficient shots and not sharing the ball is killing the team. with lin running the offense everyone is involved and playing effectively.

For the money he's getting, he does. He's a Chalmers level player. Nothing more.

No. Factoring in ego and salary Kobe is the worst player in the NBA.

lol, Lin was the one with the ball in his hands in crunch time, dribbling out the clock and passing it to Kobe instead of being aggressive like he was in the 1st Q...

We were down 4 and had 30+ seconds on the clock, time to go for a 2 for 1

instead, dude dribbles around the perimeter, 20 seconds to go, dishes it to Kobe and it ends up in a turnover...game over

Lin has no confidence in crunch time.

Lin will never get credit for playing well, and will catch the flak for a shitty game. People will never treat him like an average to good NBA player, they will shit on him holding him to a CP3 level standard so he is always a failure in their eyes.

I don't think people have actually watched Jeremy Lin this season. You could play a drinking game with the number of times he simply loses his handle.

as a direct response to the title

he doesn't appear to have the type of the game that ages well

and think about how that translates in terms of value

How is Kobe not the worst starter atm?
- stats prove Lakers offence improve massively when he sits
- same with defence
- he shoots in the mid 30ies FG
- he shoots 20+ shots
- he has a usage rate in 4th quarter which is very high, and bvery low FG %.
- kills any team chemistry
- throws team mates under the bus in media
- tells teammates and coach to GTF out of the way
- almost never passes in chruch when doubled or tripled
- gets 24 millions for all this
:facepalm :facepalm

With this team? Never heard a pip from Kobe.

Lebron on the other hand, talks to the media about his Cavs teammates as if he is the Mr. Miyagi of winning basketball. Like they are half-retarded kids or something.

Even Phil Jackson got a sense of humor about his condescending Zen talk.

Also, the whole thing about him being "overpaid" at $25 million over three years is overblown as well. The math works out to be roughly $8.4 million per year.

Other PGs making around $8.4M a year?

Rodney Stuckey, $8.5 million
Goran Dragic, $8.5 million
Devin Harris, $8.5 million
George Hill, $8 million
Mike Conley, $7.3 million

Why does't anybody ever complain about Stuckey, Harris or Hill getting that kind of money?

Well Dragic and Conley shit on Lin and Hill is better than Lin and defends better and takes care of the ball better. Most of all he's able to play within his teams system and doesn't do just one thing or have just one speed. Stuckey makes $1.5 million and Harris makes $3.8 million. So you're way off base. Try again soon though please.

He's not even the worst starter on his team. Wesley Johnson I'm looking at you.
