:oldlol: 32k+ points Doesn't mean shit? really?
yes i do agree that he won't surpass jordan with that but dude get real, it will add a mass for a solid argument against other top 10-5 ATG.

He has a lower fg% than almost all of them, so no it won't make a difference. Chucking doesn't lead to you becoming a top 10 player of all time:applause:

No kidding he isn't getting past Jordan. State more obvious things for us

He has 5 rings and MJ has 6 going undefeated in the Finals. In the grand scheme of things amongst greats, rings is the deciding factor and that is why MJ is the goat. But to say him surpassing MJ in points doesn't mean shit leads me to believe you are 1 insecure btch :facepalm

Jordan never scored 81, never averaged 50 for a whole month, never outscored a team when kobe had 62 in three quarters vs finals team falls in 2006.

TS is a garbage stat

Yes, of course.

Any stat that factors in three-point shots and free throws should be completely disregarded. Evidently, the ability to draw free throws and make them and adjusting to how the game has changed with more three-point attempts is irrelevant.

Don't know why we're comparing these two...Jordan is the GOAT and Kobe is a fringe top 15 player of all time.

:oldlol:, but but but but, Kobe is nowhere near MJ as a scorer :oldlol:

The difference really is that small when you take into account that Kobe shot way more jump shots than others in the top 5...Malone I think took 2nd most (he was taking like 1k jumpers a yr in his late 30s).

Wilt is obviously the worst in the top 5, because he was a HORRIBLE FT shooter.

Totals are longevity records, and longevity records are fine if you're running for GOAT, as long as you can back them up with a very dominant prime, which I'm hesitant to say that Kobe had. Karl Malone and Stockton are the kings of longevity records and still few care, due to them not having dominant enough primes. Kareem also has a lot of longevity records, but he also has a dominant enough prime to enable him to enter the GOAT discussions.

Fixed that for you

You fixed nothing. It's mainly individual dominance what separates greats from all-time legends, not rings. Tony Parker easily beats Stockton in ring count and he's nowhere near him GOAT-wise. Isiah Thomas' rings beat Malone's and he's definitely below Malone - though somewhat close, because he has had multiple dominant playoff performances.

If Karl Malone and John Stockton switched ring counts with Tim Duncan and Magic Johnson they would be considered the best at their positions of all time. :confusedshrug:
