After 12 straight losses to the Lakers, the Hawks finally won the game (103:92) against Magic, Kareem and company.
Webb, listed at 5-feet 7-inches and the smallest player in the NBA, had season highs of 23 points and 13 assists, but two dunks from Spudd were the plays of the game.
"Driving hard is something I've done all my life," Webb said. "If they block it, they block it, but I always come back."
Dominique Wilkins led the Hawks with 33 points and he was a star of the game alongside Webb. This Hawks team was one of the most exciting teams in NBA history; so many athletes on one squad (Webb, Wilkins, Willis, Rollins, Rivers, Levingston, Carr).

Someone has to make a Spud Webb dunk compilation. I wonder what his overall dunks number was.
Also, :wtf: was the ref doing at 4:00...

This was honestly an awesome clip. The thing that impressed me most about Webb in this video (aside from the incredible athleticism) was the manner with which he attacked. So many little guys get into the paint, but it's clear that they're usually trying to set someone else up.
In contrast, I was thoroughly convinced that Webb had plans of trying to dunk nearly every one of his forays to the hoop (or at least finish very strong). He finished like he was 6'8''. No floaters, no crafty dipsy-do's. He was just going hard and finishing at the rim, right in the face of big men. I am truly impressed.
Sidenote, is there really just a one inch height discrepancy between Webb and Nate Robinson? Webb looks so much smaller, but I wonder if it has to do with his slight muscular build and maybe the wardrobe (short shorts tend to exaggerate one's dimensions, or lack thereof).
Edit: I guess Nate's listed at 5'8'', yes? And Spud 5'6''? So that's two inches, I guess that makes more sense.
Also, one more thing - what a feeling it must have been to be a 5'7'' NBA rookie, having the freaking Los Angeles Lakers come to town, and then proceeding to drop a career high on them, including two tomahawk dunks - one of which was in traffic. Especially just coming a few weeks after his dunk contest title. He had to have felt like he was on top of the world.

Yep. I'm convinced Spud is an extraterrestrial. No doubt. That is a 5'6'' feller taking off from outside the dotted line. Nuts.
Also, check out Cliff Levingston's reaction in that gif.

Watching The Duel on NBATV, thought this thread could use a bump due to its awesome highlights, particularly Spud Webb's mega-dunk at 5:30: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEMNj4KU7EQ#t=5m30s
Man, I forgot how unstoppable Dominique was......
