Duncan had a near quad double in the closeout game in 03 against the Nets. Probably the best nba finals performance I saw live. Baylor had a 61 point game in the finals for the old heads, not sure the rest of his line though.
EDIT: Typo. 61 not 71.

Worthy's Game 7 is definitely in the discussion: 36, 16, 10, 2 on 68%

What's funny is he looked pretty average after the first quarter and a bit. I think he only had about 6 points just before halftime.

Lol, where's wilt?
The OP clearly stated "modern era". He said it twice. Stop trolling.

You actually missed Kobe's first game, which is at 22... The 40/8/8 vs Magic (Dat stat-padding...)
In all honesty, this game would be rated even higher had he not played the 4th quarter garbage time.
Instead of 40/8/8 on 16-34 37%, he would have had: 38/8/8 on 15-29 52%...
Also that would have kept that mythology to the game... Like to Jordan's 39 vs Blazers '92.
I mean, 38 after 3? People would always say "Had Kobe kept going, he would have scored 50!"

Yeah, I was wondering how OP missed that one. 22 is damn good though.

What year does the modern era begin, and at what point in the future does it end?

hypothetically imagine they were all defensive and it's still head and shoulders above any of kobes finals games.
