Is he even better than Belli anymore? I don't think so. Dude needs to retire instead of desperately chasing rings.

Not true, Bill Russell is #1 on that list. Bird and Magic are also above Duncan and Kobe.

LeBron stans are obsessed. I'm starting to wonder if they even enjoy the sport; all they do is sit around thinking of ways to discredit anyone but LeBron. It's hilarious.

No other fanbase would think of this as "Duncan getting more help." They'd think of it either being good or bad for the Spurs.

Anyway, please don't join us Ray; you're not better than Manu, Green or Marco.

lol what are you talking about? LeBron haters constantly say "how much more help does LeBron need?" any time his team signs a player, as if the front office isn't supposed to try to build a good cast. Obviously, JT is saying "how much help does Duncan need?" in jest of that

What is wrong with staying in Miami at this point? Oh, right, they won't be competing anymore so he is bailing to be a ring chaser... again.

Exactly, you already have tremendous shooting. Probably better defense from all fo them at this point too. I guess it doesn't hurt the team any to have another great shooter but I doubt he signs. He can have a bigger role on other teams compared to here.

Not sure if Ray is needed, but if he's game I say go for it. Ginobili is still really legit but he's near retirement (same for Duncan), so it shouldn't be too much of a clash to add Ray, who's also near retirement. Spurs should do everything in their power (budget) to win a championship, just like every season.

I wouldn't mind Allen as a Manu replacement for the regular season, but if he did sign, I'd like for his minutes to be below 5 in the Playoffs.

Green and Manu are much better, and Marco is too as far as I'm concerned.

lol at Marco being better.

Ray Allen is a constant threat whenever he's on the court. You can run him all over the place and teams will mess up their rotations and defenses to stop him. Marco is just there.

The Spurs probably dont need him as much as a team like OKC or the Cavs would though.

I wouldn't mind him on the Spurs. There's still no one in the league I'd rather take a 3 in the clutch than Ray Allen. Mills will be out of action for a long time recuperating his shoulder. Manu has his leg injury so it'll take him a long time to ramp up. Bellinelli does need to play more to get more integrated. So mostly Green and Belli with Manu and Ray playing limited minutes. That's some great 3 point shooting team there.

This.

I just don't like players recruiting others. That part annoys me, not the fact that Allen in his last year or two wants to join a contender.

It's like saying that it's not okay for a team to trade a player. Both parties have the same goal, & that's to win a ring.

ummmmm...

2003 Champ Spurs - Rounding up
Duncan - 25/15/5/3, 53%
Tony - 15/3/4, 40%
Stephen - 13/4/3, 41%
Manu - 9/4/3, 39%
Robinson - 8/7, 54%
Malik Rose - 9/6, 42%

1994 Champ Rockets - Rounding up
Hakeem - 29/11/4/4, 52%
Maxwell - 14/4/4, 38%
Horry - 12/6/4, 43%
Thorpe - 11/9, 57%
JET - 11/4, 46%
Cassell - 9/4, 39%

Are you saying manu hasn't sucked in a lot of playoff games?

Averaged single digits in 02-03 playoffs on 39% shooting.

03-04 = 13 pts while shooting abysmal from 3 and under 45% from the field.

Had an atrocious showing in 4/6 games against SAC in 05-06 playoffs.

06-07 = single digit games against poor competition.

In 07-08, in the Lakers series, goes for 30 once and under 11 pts the other 4 games. Was only good for 2/5 games against Suns. 4/7 games against Hornets shot 40% or lower.

These were all in Duncan's prime. Dat epic help though right?

Yeah I was, i didn't like it.

Perhaps pressure from management to do it, but yeah in todays game its almost become what you have to do to remain competitive.

Lebron is the certified ring chaser. Ray Allen is 38 years old. Lebron is 26 when he left Cleveland to be a ring chaser
