Who are one player away from winning the whole thing. Adding this piece puts them over their competition.

Golden State - One dominant low post scorer from winning (E: Zach Randolph).

Clippers - One solid shooting guard away, preferably one that can shoot and play defense (E: Klay Thompson or Joe Johnson). Though since the Clips paid a player $100 mil, they will always be one piece away.

Who are the others?

OKC with a center like Gortat or Splitter woulda put them over the top imo

Lol although you could add KD to most teams and contend no doubt, it's not completely true some of the ones you mentioned would put them over the top. KD on the Raptors or Heat still lose to the Spurs imo.

Chicago - they already have one of the most balanced offensive and defensive rosters in the game already..all they lack is a secondary ballhandler/playmaker to take pressure off Rose. Iggy would put them at or near the top.

Portland - they need an elite spark off the bench, a 6th man of the year type player like Jamal Crawford.

Memphis - Just like Chicago..they need a perimeter creator to help Conley on the perimeter. Someone like Afflalo would make them a legit contender.

Lebron James.

Kevin Durant.

How many teams couldnt contend with either of those two is the question.

Miami & OKC? Both looked like non-contenders when they faced the Spurs in the Playoffs.

Lot of teams are more than a piece away. But like other have mentioned, sometimes it only takes a superstar level talent.

Joe Johnson was one of his examples. He can play SF.

Funniest shit I've seen all day.

You know Ariza is going to fall off again right? He feasted on wide open 3's all last season.....in a contract year where he played his nutz off. He's fine if you need someone to shoot open 3's and do absolutely nothing else competently on O. Can't dribble enough to create for others. Can't shoot off the dribble. Mediocre finisher in the half-court.

Current Lakers need Shaq with cyborg knees to contend :facepalm
