Help me out ISH GM's in training. Is this a trade that could work figure-wise? what needs to be added from either team to make it viable

The focus around the trade is that the Pacers are embracing the tank/mini-rebuild by getting out of Hibbert's contract while taking back an expiring one. The pacers will then play out the season, and by next offseason, theyll have available money to go after dragic

The Knicks should only consider this if Phil and Fish think they can turn hibbert into what everyone was expecting from him this past season. If so, hed be a much needed defensive force the Knicks are currently lacking.

Bargnani + Shumpert/Prigioni for Hibbert would work financially.

If knicks were willing to do that, it could benefit both teams.

Hibbert for Amare would probably be better.

New York fans, from the looks of things are over Amare, and Hibbert isn't too liked anymore either.

A change of scenery might benefit both. But if Hibbert does go to NYK, Fisher and Phil can possibly get him to that mindset where he can compete at his max potential.

Embracing the tank sounds right.

Only if Amare still had 2+ years left on his contract, the Pacers could pick up some nice assets like Iman or Hardaway Jr instead of Barg.

Amare's contract is too big for that to work, and the Pacers don't really have any fillers to throw in.

Bargs + Shump + picks for Hibbert

Amare + Tim Hardaway Jr. for Kobe Bryant (assuming he gets sick of the Lakers and wants a trade out)

Wonder if Phil could somehow pull that off, lol.

How big is his contract? I thought Hibbert was making the max too. hmm.

Hibbert doesn't fit the triangle.

Amare fits better. Plus trading for Hibbert eliminates the NYK free agency hopes for 2015

Amare gets $23M versus $15M for Hibbert
