I, too, think Acy is a solid addition.

It's not actually a 2nd rounder. They just lifted restrictions on a second rounder the Kings already had.

So apparently if we have a 2G who will never play and need a 3/4 we shouldn't do the move because it's not a big move? Is that what i'm hearing? That seems to be the criticism.

Knicks will be paying Travis Outlaw $3 million this season, while the Nets will be paying him $4 million after amnestying him in 2011.

no pun intended

Outlaw can be a good glue guy next to Melo.
Good move.

How would that work exactly?

I'm not getting the hate on this. The Nets coverage were laughing at this too, that the Knicks had a player that they are still paying. I don't get why that would be funny.

Travis Outlaw will be Melo's back up. The Knicks didnt have a legit SF always going undersized with Shump and Hardaway Jr. That is a nice addition and lets Cleanthony develop.

Quincy Acy legitimately could be a starter although undersized he is a load. He instantly becomes the Knicks most athletic and explosive player. Sad but true.

Not a contender move but trying to balance and legitimize the roster.

I can only hope Jr and Bargs are next to be jettisoned.

it's actually not too bad for the Kings.

- Tyler gives the Kings a backup C, which they needed badly. He'll be a serviceable 10~12min type. If he lives up to any kind of potential, he should be fairly solid

- It frees up rotation mins for both F positions, which was especially needed for PF, especially if they aspire to trade for Jsmoove

- frees up that Outlaw salary...

- Ellington is solid and should be a nice rotational player w/ McLemore and Stauskas, as the Kings are rumored to try to play more 3-guard (not counting Gay) line-ups

I'll miss Acy, but I actually like this. It seems like a move meant for another future trade - frees up cap space and gives them another SG (McLemore trade bait?), but even if they keep the players, it's a solid move, imo.

I don't see why he won't he's that energy guy the Knicks don't really have and Amare is always injured and Bargs sucks, **** i'm pissed the Kings traded him he's also improved his jumper a lot and can nail the odd 3.

Congratz to Knicks fans they got a likeable player who they will enjoy cheering for.
